1)Star Trek
2)The Next Generation
3)DS9
4)Voyager
5)Enterprise
Next Generation is the only one I truly enjoy watching, and some episodes of voyager where 7of9 gets to strut her stuff :)
-
There was an episode of Next Generation that was very good. Picard is taken over by this probe that makes him relive the life of a man from a dieing planet. He spends the entire show learning to play the flute.. great show.

Thats my favorite Star Trek episode by far, it's called "The Inner Light."

That's my favortite show, among the best shows I've seen on TV
I liked Next Generation overall the best of all Trek series.

Thanks for that. I've been looking for that to rerun so I could tape the thing. Didn't know the title.
-
I like First Contact(Next Generation Movie). I think the movies really expand the Star Trek universe and generally allow for a richer environment because of the biggeer budget and running time.
Are there any Voyager movies?
-
As a series? DS9 hands down.
TNG got samey. And Riker annoys me.
TOS wasn't long enough.
Voyager. hello? Janeway.
Enterprise. Quantum Leap in space? Gimme a break. Although the Vulcan ain't bad......
And all TNG films have way too much Data in the story......all because that hack Brent Spiner wouldn't play data unless he was central to the storyline. Premadonna.

I hate Star Trek. But my dad is a junkie He has watched them all.
-
1-TOS
2-Enterprise
Hated the other 3
-
all of em are ghey. only nerd watch star trek.:p
-
I am really enjoying Enterprise. Considering Roddenberry is not writing, it's interesting none the less.
Here is the true order of best Star Trek versions:
1.Star Trek (because it was the incubus)
2.T N G
3.Enterprise
4.Voyager
5.DS-9

You spend alot of time on these boards too.....People that immerse themselves in the virtual world alot are usually also considered nerds..kinda like the pot calling the kettle black isn't it?

Never got into voyager myself.
While the original ST series was written a LONG time ago, in some respects they are outstanding.
I liked DS9, good premise, good plots.
I really like the Enterprise series. Its very well done IMO.
And while ST is good, & paved the way the one show I drop everything for is
Stargate SG1.
The movie rocked, the series is awesome.
Atlantis, eh, we'll see. Not as fond of the characters there yet, although a few are growing on me.
If I had to rate em
#1 Enterprise
#2 DS9
#3 Star Trek
#4 TNG (Picards a wuss)
#5 Voyager
-
lol i haven't been on the boards all day long hehe. went to 2 parties. one in sand eigo and other right across the street. it was like 120 today and 90 at san deigo. i felt like i was in an oven. MT must REALLY be suffering. it is almost 10 pm here and still in the low 90's. and the damn air conditionar broke.

1. Deep space 9
2. TNG
Yes, 'Inner Light' is an incredibly great episode, best ever. For DS9 doubters, watch Season 5.5 through the end, best stuff ever. It was really serial (eg, things were different at the end of each episode, episodes affected each other, etc), really dark (they spend a lot of time discussing the implications of a large scale war in the otherwise idyllic star trek universe (with billions of people dying), and more.
-
1. TNG
2. DS9
3. TOS
4. Voyager
5. Enterprise
Inner light is my fav TNG episode also, and I agree the last seasons of DS9 were a real intersting departure from the usual star trek "lore"
Stargate SG1 is a brilliant show, who would've thought that of ole McGuyver!

DS-9

My favorite ST episode of all time is the one where Kirk gets jumped by a green chick with black hair. The early ST's always had lots of great lookin chicks. Also, who could not love Tribles. Throw a couple of them in yer pants and .... er nm.
The first couple of "Borg" episodes of NG were great. Get to see the fire power unleashed. None of this mamby pamby contact rules. Blow em all to HELL!!!
hehe..................*

Absolutely !
DS-9 just plain smelled bad... until they started exploring into the Delta quadrant through the wormhole. The show creators forgot that space needs to be EXPLORED (not have tramp freighters coming to the space station - borrrrrring). And the whole "emissary" religion crapola....yawn.....
-
Still say the best TNG episodes were the 2 "Best of Both Worlds".
As has been said no namby pamby wait and see....blast em!!
DS9 - Never really got into. Star Trek on space station, bit like Cannonball Run with a Citroen 2CV. Liked the one where some of them went back in time to the "Troubles with Tribbles" episode from the origninal series.
Voyager - Had some good episodes, Scorpion springs to mind with species 8472.
Enterprise - Dunno, doesn't 'look' right considering it's set before original series, maybe if the sets wobbled.
Original - Despite some real bad special effects, wobbly sets, still a classic.
-
The original series was pretty good, but had one major flaw, all the aliens pretty much were human.
TNG was way better in mixing up the look of aliens. By far my favorite ST character was Q, even tho he looked human, his wicked sense of humor made him the star of whatever episode he appeared on.
Never watched much DS9 or Voyager, but have slowly started getting into Enterprise.
-
The original series.
there are a few.
"The Omega Glory"
"The Trouble with Tribbles"
And one or two more I cant remember the names of off hand

I liked Q too.
But the turn off for me was fake, goofy looking "aliens" . I would rather see human looking "aliens" than fake looking puppets and masks.
For me the story takes precidence.

#1: The Next Generation (Do not miss list: All good things..., The Best of both worlds, The Inner Light, Darmok)
#2: Star Trek (Original series) (DNML: The city on the edge of forever, Arena (say cheese))
#3: Enterprise, although the whole Xindi thing departs a bit too much from the Star Trek formula. (DNML: The whole arch from the end of the 3rd season)
#4: Voyager (DNML: Anything from the 5th to 7th season, along with a couple of episodes from season 2, one of them being "Death Wish")
#5: Deep Space Nine, not enough thought inspiring for my taste. Lots of action and battles, not enough issues IMHO.

what does TOS stand for?!!!?
-
The Original Series.
ie, Kirk.

1: Star Trek
2: Enterprise (aka ST: T'POL)
3: TNG
4: Voyager
5: DS9
My fave TNG episode was also 'Inner Light'!
I like Enterprise because it's different and more like the original Trek than the others - i.e. Archer doesn't give a damn about the Prime Directive because there isn't one! :)
-
Two of the funniest TNG involved Q.
The one where he was stripped of his powers, and the other where he sent the crew to Sherwood Forest, lol.
Another very good Q episode is where Picard's artificial heart is going bad,and while under laments to Q about how foolish he was when he lost it in a bar fight.Q then sends him back to let him change things, and Picard discovers how foolish incidents can mold your future.

hmm, well...
1. star trek
2. voyager
3. tng
4/5??? ds9 and enterprise, both equally crappy.
-
DS-9...The Space Truck Stop (complete with hookers). No wonder they had to completely rewrite the series toward the end.
-
Original series, second episode where Kirk chases the Romulans through the comet tail and into the Neutral Zone. The Romulans fire some super weapon photon plasma glob at the Enterprise, and Kirk backs up in Warp 9. "It looks like it has a range Captain," says Sulu.
There was another episode where the Enterprise sustained full phasers on a Greek temple and melted it. That was cool looking.

They had to re-write it because it was boring...hell even the big Dominion war couldn't save that show.
-
Since I wasn't alive when Star Trek was on, I never became a big fan of the series. Because of this I can't get it out of my head that the show has bad special effects and numerous continuity problems. So I'll abstain from putting Star Trek in my list since I judge it unfairly.
1. TNG - Best episode(s) tied between Best of Both Worlds 1 & 2 or Yesterday’s Enterprise.
2. Voyager - Scorpion was a good one, or the series finale. I always like an episode dealing with time.
3. Enterprise - Now that they've gotten into a continuous story, I really like the show. No episodes stand out though as I think they're pretty consistent. Can't wait for the new season though, they may of come up with one of the best cliff hangers.
4. DS9 - While they had some very good episodes, I think they had too many stupid ones. Although I still watch them on Spike TV. The show really picked up with the war that lasted the last 2 seasons.
In a toss up between Stargate SG1 and Enterprise I would have to pick SG1. Best thing Sci-Fi channel ever did was pick up SG1 from Showtime. Atlantis I think has promise and I'm warming up to the characters and the setting. Can't wait for Sci-Fi to get Battlestar Galactica going again in a few months. The miniseries was great and I would assume so would the series. When Sci-Fi wants to do something well, they seem to be able to pull it off.
-
TNG - "Clues" Enterprise bumps into a world that wishes to be left alone. The crew wake up missing a day and Data has to sidestep every question that Picard asks and they think he's malfunctioning.
Star Trek - "A Taste of Armageddon" A 500 year old war between two planets has become so trivial that its computer generated casualties walk willingly into disintigration facilities. The Enterprise and crew are tagged as casualties and Kirk teaches these planets what real war is about.
The other shows are just soap operas. Never could get interested enough to keep up with the stories.
-
IMO the addition of the Borg species revitalized the Star Trek franchise.

Dan the TNG, TOS, Voyager eps (except I didn't really rate Death Wish) are all what I'd considered as my all time favs...I'd add:
TOS: Let That Be Your Last Battlefield, This Side of Paradise, Mirror Mirror
TNG: Chain of Command pts. 1&2 (second best behind Inner Light), Descent pt 1., Cause and Effect, Deja Q, Yesterday's Enterprise
Voyager: Prototype, Meld, Tuvix

Everything that has anything to do with Star Trek sucks.

Ooh aaah of course, I forgot about those: Chain of Command (There are four lights!!!) I like only because of the interrogation scenes, and Cause and Effect because it's superbly done. Deja Q was funny as hell: "It's hard to work in groups when you are omnipotent"
Tuvix was a good "issue" episode (I would have made Tuvix a bit more lovable), and Meld was good because of Brad Dourif. Prototype was a bit too predictable, and the robots were about to explode because of an overload of stereotyping. :D
The episode from Season 2 of Voyager I was meaning to add was "The Thaw". Wonderful speech from Janeway at the end and a couple of sentences from the doctor that made me laugh out loud:
How am I supposed to negotiate if I don't know what you're thinking?!" - Fear
"I have a very trustworthy face." - EMH
Daniel
-
Voyager - dunno what season or title but the Doctor has to hide from anti-hologram aliens in Sevens body then quickly pigs out, gets drunk and has a quick snog - class!
DS9 - Trouble with Tribbles. Worf has to explain why Klingons in the past looked so different i.e. before ultra laytex effects 'It's a long story, dont ask'

Sure Prototype wasn't breaking any new ground...but I really liked it, and your right season 2 was a real killer for Voyager :D
David Warner and Patrick Stewart were excellent in Chain of Command (and Ronny Cox)

In my opinion "Firefly" kicked the living crap out of anything out there past or present. Except maybe "Babylon 5", of which I have have heard good things.

The Original series where Kirk has to fight the Gorn on the planet....
He builds a primitive cannon and defeats the Gorn leader......
this episode has it all; space battle, Spock analysis, Bones yapping, Kirk patented karate chop to the back of the neck, the whole shabang....
The Khan episode and the later Wrath of Khan movie were some excellent science fiction..
Notable Khan qoutes:
"I've done far worse than kill you, Admiral. I've hurt you. And I wish to go on hurting you. I shall leave you as you left me, as you left her: marooned for all eternity in the center of a dead planet, buried alive. Buried alive." (my personal favorite..)
"Ah Kirk, my old friend. Do you know the Klingon proverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It is very cold in space."
"To the last, I will grapple with thee."
"From hell's heart, I stab at thee. For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee." (Moby Dick)
"I'll chase him 'round the moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares Maelstrom and 'round perdition's flames before I give him up!"
I think Khan doesn't like Kirk very much.

I particularly liked Khan's inferred quote from Paradise Lost, when he asked Kirk if he was familiar with Milton. Spock or Bones, can't remember which, didn't get it. Kirk quoted: "Better to rule in Hell than to serve in Heaven".

I was home yesterday and the space channel had a Star Trek Voyager marathon. I watched 5 episodes back to back.
The Terrible Year Interesting idea to see the ship basically get destroyed yet everything goes back to normal at the end.
Scorpion. Cool to see how 7 of 9 joined the crew and to see them cooperate with the borg and yet not have to turn over the technology at the end.
My favorite episode was one where they sent the doctor to a federation ship in the alpha quadrant via an abandoned communications network and he finds it has been hijacked by Romulians and the entire crew is dead. He works with EMH in that ship to save it, and then comes back to Voyager.
I thought the ending was lame and they should have built more on the now we can talk to the alpha quadrant theme in the next few episodes but I suppose that would have killed the whole we are lost in space theme.

TNG - Darmok, Inner Light, First Contact. How can you go wrong with
Marina Sirtis?
TOS - Classic
DS9 - Stationary Star Trek ?
Voyager - Eh. Got better later in the series and when I started watching it as reruns.
Enterprise - Watched 2-3 episodes and gave up on it.
