Brewster SB2A was almost identical with Grumman "Avenger" but carried only half of its load. Manufacturing of "Avenger" was also begun 6 months earlier.
______________SB2A ______TBF/TBM
hp___________1700hp______1700 hp
kg_empty/max_4500/6480kg__4790/7880kg
Speed Max_____441kmh______436kmh
bomb load______454kg_______900kg
Edit: Theoretically the Brewster SB2A was capable to divebomb but for example the Britons (A&AEE) found the plane unsuitable to any combat operations and used their "Brewster Bermudas" as target tugs.
