Ever since patch 10 I have been getting tons of CTD's and occasional freezes. I did not change any settings before this all started nor did I mess with my machine. I'm running win2003 server 1 gig of ram and 9800pro vid card. There have been no other problems with any other program or the machine in general. It's just getting CTD'd randomly, whether I'm flying or not on average about once every 20 mins. It does not seem to be maxing anythign out.. vid usage is around 50 percent, mem usages is around 500meg..
Anyone else? Ideas?

Probly not it, but worth a shot: Disable texture preload, even if it's not filling up your ram/vidram

Thanks for the pointer.. as of now , I have everything turned down to the mins and it makes no diff. It seems like some sort of memory exception but I could be wrong. It just either crashes straight to the desktop or freezes.

Make sure sound acceleration is at 3/4.
Also, you can try lowering video hardware acceleration a notch at a time to see if that effects the CTDs.
Neither of them are real 'fixes' especially the video one because it will take away some graphic visuals. 'Might' pinpoint an area though.

Ya.. tried this too.. one thing I noticed was that by turning down the graphics and especially the preload I seem to be getting a little more stabilty. Even so, it's completely unacceptable and I'm yet to have any reason to believe its my issue. I asked on country chan yesterday and today if others are having new ctd issues and it seems to become rather common. If I don't get a serious response from HTC I guess I'm done. No point in CTD'ing every 10-30 mins... For some reason it is consistent with only one thing. The other day I was attacking a former squad mate who switched to another side. Regardless of what I flew, once I got within 1k of his b26's I CTD'ed.. 5 times in a row.

Have you checked your CPU temperature???? Back in AH1 I was getin' booted after 10-30min of flight, and could not figure it out. I was swapin' my ram around, hoping it was something dumb like that when I noticed how HOT my cpu was. Logged in to AH, waited for boot, then jumped into my bios and looked at my cpu temp, and it was off the scale. Quick add of another fan, and I was fine.
Sounds silly, but worth a check. AH is VERY cpu intensive.
ALSO how about running a DXDiag and emailing it to support@hitechcreations.com Fastest way for help would be to email, then call 'em. Skuzzy is GREAT guy who will be happy to help.

For me the CTD issue was solved when I removed the side panel of my case - don't have enough fans in the case and it couldn't handle the upgraded cpu / videocard / ps.
If your motherboard supports, then try a utility like motherboard monitor and check your temps. You can also check the power supply here if you create a log file.

Just a thought.... Does your former squad mate have nose art uploaded ?

Good point on temperature, WMLute.
I suggest everyone take their computer outside at least once a year and get that leafblower or air compressor out and give it a good blowing out. You will be amazed at how much dust and debris gets in there after awhile. Stand upwind though so your not enveloped in the rising dust cloud. Doesn't hurt to clean all fans and make sure they are all spinning and pushing air.
