Title: Speaking of conspiracies... Moon hoax
Post by: CMC Airboss on September 07, 2004, 05:29:21 PM
I guess it was all a great big fabrication - I'm talking about the Moon landings.  It has to have been a hoax, there is a website refuting the Apollo moonlanding claims.

Just a thought here, but seems to me the conspiracy folks don't know much about science, or have any background with science.   Maybe they have no faith in man's ability to do serious things like build the great pyramid or go to the moon.  Of course aliens from somewhere else can do all these things and more, but not man.

What gets me is the contradiction these folks offer when it comes to space exploration efforts, i.e. we never made it to the moon, but it's imperative we go to Mars and check out the face on Mars.  They think, or at least claim out loud, discoveries of this nature would be, or are covered up.  For Pete's sake, why?

NASA even was curious enough to take a closer look at the surface.  They would love to find pyramids on Mars.  To most thinking people, NASA would count a discovery such as evidence of an ancient civilization on Mars as being their greatest achievement, and would push for funding to go there and check it out.  It would be top priority.

It is easy to dismiss the moon hoax conspiracy theorists as entertaining at best.  If it's funny though, it's not much different than the old world diversion of buying a ticket to the local insane asylum, to laugh at the antics going on there.

The worst of it all is the harm such conspiracy paranoia does to serious efforts at bettering mankind.  We truly are living in the dark ages.
