85 degrees and 90% humidity here.
It rained for about ten minutes about an hour or so ago. Humidity levels rocketed as soon as the sun came back out.

But I also understand it tends to get very windy out your way....

Sounds like hell.

This year seems to have been a very odd year for weather. August in North Texas (D/FW area) usually sees 95+ temperatures or 100+ for almost the entire month. And we never get rain in August.
I do not think we hit 100 but one time and most of the month was in the upper 80's low 90's. We even got a fair amount of rainfall.
This week it has been in the mid to upper 80's during the day, mid 60's at night and dry. Absolutely beautiful weather for this time of year.
If you guys are already getting snow,..and we have not been getting any heat. Hmmm. Could be an interesting winter.
-
It rained almost all august here... nothing unusual.
-
Well, we had a very, very unusual summer here.
-
I meant to say "nothing unusual here", but am pretty lazy when it comes to typing with one hand and eating a sandwich with the other :)
-
Only 2 days in the 90s in southeastern WI, less than 2 weeks in the 80s. Very cool summer, average rainfall I suppose. Not nearly as humid or muggy as in previous summers. Very little bugs/mosquitos :) I enjoyed that!
-
Seems like it was a cool summer here to. Though we are having a heat wave right now. it will be 95 atleast today.
I can not wait for summer to be over. I hate hot weather.
-
Oh no, I caught what you meant. That makes it even wierder. You have normal weather while we are having the most bizarre summer in recent weather history.
OT: What kind of sandwich?
-
Everything is always "as usual" here in Lululand... that what makes it boring :)
Bacon, Lettuce and Brie cheese... Straffo's going to kill me for this :D
-
Very OT: I have never molested bacon with brie before. Bacon crispy, or limp? Think or thin cut? Smoked or not?
I am partial to Gouda for that combination.
Back on topic: We have a saying in Texas, "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it will change."
-
Remaining on the OT side:
Crispy thin bacon, the lettuce probably was crispy a few days ago...
I learned about this sandwich while trravelling on British rail... it's a gourmet meal :D
I figured I should eat as many things that I like this week, going for my 1st skydive on Saturday... I can't be sure I'll make it past that day!
Pple usualy look at me an odd way when I tell them UK is the place I've had the best food in my life so far... and I did travel a bit. (hmmm curry...)
-
Well, Texas has definately stolen our saying.
Damn Texans:D
Is this still OT?
-
The bacon and Brie sandwhich I discovered recently on a trip to London also. But...the bacon was more like Canadian back-bacon on the ones I had and not the crispy type.
Delicious.:aok
Ripper...yes, it can get a tad windy...but so far this year we have been lucky.;)
SOB...I wouldn't say it feels like hell. Texas in August sure feels that way though...at least it did at the 2002 Con. I remeber thinking "Thank GOD we aren't playing golf" one day when I went outside. Such a sentance is rare coming out of my mouth.

We could be neighbors vort .....
I am just north of Edmonton and woke up around 4:30am to a loud CRACK .. I looked out to see tree branches all over my yard. I spent the next few minutes moving the vehicles out from under trees before they fell down.

I didn't say it originated here. Truth is, I have no idea where that came from, but it is used, on a daily basis, around here.

it seems to be used, almost on a daily basis, almost everywhere...
-

Damn outsiders.

LOL, are you hungry or something ? :D
I have no idea, other than it was green. It's what we call "Laitue" here. The brie was french though! Did I mention It also had some butter, mayo and pecan nut bits?
-
Was probably redleaf.
Man, did you say pecans? Almost pecan season here. All ya need is a big bag and a .22
Squirells everywhere, not to mention pecans.
Fun fun fun.

Understatement of the Year! My electric bill is less than half of what it was a year ago.
