Let's update the AH plane webpage charts and should add more info for the rest of the planes...
Our aim is to add historic background, especially on neglected planes like the F4F,spit 1, P-40, A6M2, ect
Example:
*Name of the plane
*year
*classification i.e. interceptor, heavy bomber
*Vivid history and multiple quotes from rea; WWII pilots (make it sound interesting for new players, like in Fighter Ace)
*Last but not least..... the data(!)
:)

This is something members could put together if HTC could give us the data tables with which to generate the charts. All the rest of it (the background data), we could do. I'd pitch in.
I was just thinking today that it would be nifty to get updated charts with grid marks and all on the same scale so that it's easier to compare.
It would also be nice to have, in addition to the speed and climb data, max sustained turning rate with and without wep. Having that even just at sea level would be nice.

The plane data in the help page should really brought up to date, and i would like to have speed/alt charts with fine grid, not like they are now.
That would only be fair... since some people have the info and others dont.

Somewhere I have most of the old charts with grids superimposed. I'll see if I can find them and post them. Data may be slightly different for AH2, but I was always under the impression the charts were based on the documented performance, and HTC tweaked the flight models to make them match. Anybody know for sure?

I was working on an applet that displays comparision data between planes... Here's the demo link

you need JRE 1.4.X or higher installed to view though....
I've only added a few planes since gathering the data is a pain....

There's some pretty cool Flash-based chartig packages out there too.
I never have luck with Java stuff for anything that needs a GUI.
