If anybody missed out on installing these, you oughta think again on it. They made a huge difference on my laptop, somewhat less but still an improvement on my desktop.

I downloaded an omega driver and things got worse. AH stutters now, sure when I look straight up I get fps around 275 but the thing stutters around smoke. Im thinking of switching back to an NVidia driver

I agree kj. I downloaded the Omega Drivers for my Geforce FX5200 128MB AGP and it increased my frames by nearly 20.

double check your sound hardware acceleration and turn it down a notch if it's on full. run dxdiag and go to sound....

Omega drivers have v-sync turned off by default, if you install them be sure to turn it on or suffer rubber bullits. I've never been able to confirm any increse in performance and have seen some stuttering also, better to stick to detinators or cats.

Run the Omega 53.03's with current bottom end nvidia card: fx5200. I swear to God these are faster than the omega 56.72's.
I reckon I'm getting a 30% frame rate increase using these over any others. - mid 40's on the deck (briefly drops to low 20's when flying through the smoke of a badly busted-up field) at 1024x768 -512 texture size, 2xQ AA and 4xAF.
Very much looking forward to the 61.## release.

I am running nVidia 53.03 and I have not found any increase, no decernable change at all good or bad, when using any of the Omega drivers on my FX5900U. I LOOSE 20 FPS if I use any nVidia driver above 53.03.

You obviously have VSync turned OFF. I would recommend that you turn in ON.

Be careful when installing new video drivers.
In some cases, many as a matter of fact, the new driver won't help boost frame rates because of refresh rate of monitor etc.
If you're getting 60FPS at the moment.....and the refresh rate on your monitor is 60......that's the best you'll do. Frame rates are refresh rate bound. Even if you do install a so called updated driver chances are very good your frame rate will not be any better.
Also.....read the "readme" files on the new driver. Usually all they are, are patches made to correct problems on specific games.
Also....I know some say "ya don't have ta uninstall the old driver"
Always uninstall the old driver. If not you'll very likely have a system that's looking in the registry at more lines and commands then it needs to. I've had trouble because I've not uninstalled old drivers. Take the time to do so....it will payoff in the long run.
And.......the adage "IF it ain't broke don't fix!" applies here. Check your refresh rate first (setting for monitor). If your monitor can handle it raise the refresh rate. Always check first if your monitor can handle a raise in refresh rate before trying it.
Coz if you don't, and raise your refresh rate anyway......your FR could go to 0.
Just a word of caution folks. New drivers help some PCs', but don't help the majority of them.

Use Driver Cleaner to make sure you get all of the old drivers uninstalled. I forget where to download it at but you should be able to Google for it.
