Sounds good...
But have him go around the U.S. teaching kids what communism is, and why it's bad...

Send him back to north korea and let him live in his workers paradise.

Firing squad

Earlier this month, he announced that he would surrender to military authorities to "face the charges that have been filed against me."
Listed as a defector by the military, Jenkins could face up to life in prison if convicted.
I think that's sufficient. Let the thing run it's course.

Appeared in propaganda films...bad show, old boy.
If he were a young man who had just done it instead of an old man who did it 35+ years ago, would we feel differently?

No. If he were a young man, the military authorities would simply make him "face the charges that have been filed against him."
Listed as a defector by the military, the young man would then possibly face up to life in prison if convicted.
It's simple; let the JAG do its job.

Life in prison for defecting is better than he deserves. He deserted then committed treason by appearing in NK propaganda films during a time of war.
He should be shot.
-
he should run for kerrys senate seat.
-
A personal apology to the entire nation and the free world and then life in prison. A prison that would no doubt be completely more entertaining, accomodating and peaceful then his last place of residence by a long shot.

Hmmm...
Was he a conscript or did he volunteer?
Life imprisonment for someone that deserts after being drafted seems a bit harsh. It's not as if we gave life imprisonment to people that dodged the draft. What's the difference?

Going over to the enemy and starring in their propaganda films?
Shouldn't make a difference.

There'll probably be some compromise and he will stay in Japan. You'll see. But what occured to me as a money grabber was.............39 years back pay. Oh yes.

now you neo-cons have gone too far, john kerry should not get life imprisionment for making propaganda films for Ho Chi Min.
