Followed a formation at 200 ft of alt directly over the top of my countries CV. Not only do the flashes from my tempest cannon not hurt the form, but none of the 10-20 sets of tracers from CV ack, going thru the form do any damage either. The form flies out the other side then shoots down my temp.
Perhaps the tuffness of bombers is just a tad to high? Was there EVER, at ANY TIME, IN ANY WAR, a formation of planes that could fly over a fully operational task group at 200 feet & never turn or adjust pattern, and fly away? I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally doubt it.

your joking right?
my b17 is made of rice paper ffs

Anton, my guess is that there was some kind of connection issue here. This certainly isn't what's supposed to happen, if everything is working correctly.

Are you sure your convergence isn't off? I know for the tippy if I have it set out quite a bit, it seems like I can't hit ANYTHING close in... I don't know if this is the deal with the tempest too?
Bombers in general aren't so tough to deal with if you can plant a few 20mms right in their face, for some reason the whole plane just blows up. About the only way to kill one in a 109 w/o gondies.

Works for me ;)

If the bombers aren't getting hit by 5" guns - they'll make it through. Also depends on how many "gun emplacements" have been destroyed on the task group.
I've taken arados right across the deck of a Task group and got out with a smoking engine on one of my drones.

Uber Buffs :rofl
Something is wrong on someones end.

i killed CVs eassy in A234s in AH1 and AH2, dive with 500mph , salvo 3x3x500kg droop alt under 2k BOOOOM. and as Waffle wrotte, i get out with not more than 1 eng out of 6 smoking. But if 5'' guner see me 1 shell blows up all 3 planes, small 37mm on bases and CVs acs are useles in AH2.
What pss me off worst is Me110s killing CVs with 30mm, this bs suposed to be fixed, no wonder soo many players canceled acounts.

I don't think bombers are too tough, I make a hobby of killing them and I haven't run in to any that were especially difficult... Except the ones with the really good gunners.
And then one I overtook to quickly and banged into his outboard engine nacelle... That did nothing good for my 190.
And speaking from a bomber pilot perspective (my other hobby), anyone how can out manuver my pretty sharp gunner skills seems to have pretty good luck beating the heck out of my planes.
They feel about the same as AH1 to me.

CV ack seems to be way too light in how it hits ya... except for the manned 5" of course :D
-
You've probaly come across it after some dweeb in an A6M has strafed half the guns down Stang.
Always seems pretty accurate/lethal when I get close to a CV.
-
I've always thought all planes were a tad too weak especially buffs.
-
I think his complain is more that his cannons did not do much. Don't know about the cannons not doing damage, lag maybe. But sitting on a bomber formations 6 is just asking for it. Also, it is possible that they all went down seconds after you died.
However, I did count 6 hits from my 30mm on a B26 last night and did not even smoke it. Pulled up and as I was looping around I got the assist on it.
Don't think the bombers are too tough. Its something else thats causing it.

The German 30's are neutered, that's why Dedalos

Well the plane in question was not even a B17 "flying fortress", Nor was it a lancaster, I think they were JU88s. The CV had all guns operational as it had just spawned from the last time the same guy sunk it.
Apparently this pilot has found some way to make his plane super tuff, this was not his first "how the hell is he still flying?" sortie I witnessed. Couple more instances like this & I will completely avoid attacking buffs.

but why was you flying right up behind him? come in from the side or front, aim for the pilot himself and boom

JU88s, You should have said so at the beginning. I think they are a lot tuffer now. I have been able to take a lot of hits in them lattly and fly away. Last shorty I killed an LA7 and killed the engine of a 190. Thas after they made repeated passes at me scorring hits on every pass. Eventually I lost one of the 88s from the fire but I could not figure out why I was still alive after the LA7 attack. I used to take 2 of those things down in one pass. Not anymore. Kind of like it since their guns suck :D

It all depends if the cv had manned guns or not.

Could it be the Ki76? That 20 mm cannon is lethal to anyone in the aft hemisphere.

I cant say exactly what plane it was, exept that it was a form, & not 17s or Lancs. Ill give the pilot kill shot thing a try.
