Thanks for the earlier inputs all
I've tried to update this version to incorporate all the research and suggestions everyone made earlier.
1. The canopy was repainted sea grey. I had to take some artistic liberties with the wing camo, but I believe a good balance was met.
2. The Name plate was placed on a white background with red border.
3. The fuse invasion stripes were modified by adding the black strips on the underside per group picture.
The hardest part by far was coming up with a good compromise for the canopy. The way it's modeled into the wing roots on the 3d model really make for fun self mutilation :eek:
I am now gonna commit myself to the rubber room for some therapy :p

Sure thing nopoop, i'll put the Little Chief over there too. :)

Nomde, I think the red needs to be lightened up a bit. It just stands out way too much. Also, when you take screens try to get a good angle on the plane. It looks good otherwise.

Nomde I've have a few 56th planes ingame and a few more under review. If you want, download one of them at the skin site for the "red" and "yellow".
I by no means am saying my colors are correct. Far from it. My red is alittle more subdued. The main thing is that between the two of us the cowl/stabilizer colors will be the same.
I can't wait to put together a shot with a gaggle of them..
Or...a squad of um :D
Something that works for me is hitting the "Z" key for the screen shots. Zoomed in it changes the perspective to a more normal thingy....messin with the time of day...you know da kine.
Looks great !! And I'll betcha after dodgin a bullet on the left side that right wing root camo was a whole lot of fun :D
We could have cheep beers talkin about wing roots and canopys..
...and that wittle spot at the top of the vertical stabilizer...that has a shadow that can't be found..
..or ?? the inside of the flaps when you put them down tied into the spinner color....except for a little sliver on the right flap..thats black..from somewhere..
I..
..ahh
AGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Nopoop.... I am currently in the rubber room, my therapist says i shouldn't think of such evil things for a few days :D

Very nice, Nomde! This is the first plane I thought of when I heard AH2 was going to support custom skins!

Thx Oboe, it's just about there and will submit it later today
Nopoop, I DL your Stalag III and looked at the red. If I use the red you have there, it'll look faded when I place it on my planes.
For a good compromise, what color red are you using? The current color i'm using is the following:
red = 255
green = 0
blue = 0
Opacity = 76%
I think if the red is set directly, it'll match better.

Woot :D
Gabby removed the black part of the top fuse, then the black part of the bottom fuse (only white stripes, my favorite:D), then put black/white on the bottom only. Wich ever you model, your rear fuselage stripes should touch the national insigna.
Here is the pic of his plane when he got POWed. (http://www.njipms.org/Features/Gabreski/panel_03.htm)

No wonder your red...looks red :D
I nevered looked at my RGB values before.
My base RED
R = 182
G = 84
B = 60
My base YELLOW
R = 224
G = 164
B = 68
100% opacity. Then weather layers and an overspray of dirt to the whole plane in a highlight kinda way ie: through the center of the wings faded to the edges, through the centerline of the fuse faded to the edges. I do this on all the camo planes.
DIRT
R = 197
G = 156
B = 110
Large airbrush at 50% and drop the opacity to taste once I have it right. Mine are around 10% I think. Changes all the colors in a dirty way.
