Is Paul Crouch a homo?   Would you pay someone half a million dollars to make them go away?  Oh, and the money didn't come from 'ministry funds' either.

TBN verifies founder paid to avert sex suit

The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES – The founder of the world's largest Christian broadcasting network has sought repeatedly to prevent a former male employee from going public with allegations of a sexual encounter between them eight years ago, a newspaper reported Sunday. Paul Crouch has denied the allegations in court papers.

Crouch, 70, president of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, reached a $425,000 settlement in 1998 with the former worker, Enoch Lonnie Ford, 41, who threatened to sue over charges that he was unjustly fired from the network, the Los Angeles Times said.

In a statement Sunday, TBN said Crouch denies any wrongdoing and agreed to settle the case "reluctantly" on the advice of attorneys and spiritual leaders who said it would be better to reach a financial settlement than fight his accuser in court.

"The importance of the settlement does not rest on the money paid, but rather on Dr. Crouch's vehement denial of the allegations made against him as well as the agreement of the accuser to keep confidential and refrain from repeating his false claims and accusations," the statement said.

TBN said no ministry funds were used in the settlement.

The claims could damage the Costa Mesa-based Christian broadcasting empire Crouch and his wife began in 1973. The network, which depends heavily on donations, reaches millions of people around the world.

Dunno the particulars of his case, but if I were in his position, and I was truly innocent of those allegations, I believe I would have gone to court, even though the initial outlay of court costs, etc might exceed the settlement cost.

The devil made him do it.

$425,000? His wife spends more then that of purple horse hair.

Christians and homsexuals do have a lot in common, the spend a lot of time of their knees.

Jesus will fix it just keep those checks rolling in.

If he exists and wants to reveal his existence he knows where I am. I certainly won’t take your word for it.

Most fundamentalists are the worst ambassadors for their religion in particular those who claim to be "Christians".

Send me 10% and I'll save you, none of that mumbling in tongues either...

I am at least honest in my lack of faith. To go through the motions "just in case" is not faith. It's fear.

Hey Yeager, if brainwashing worked on you, it doesn't mean that it will work on others.

Besides, I already believe that there is no afterlife (with the exception of the memories of you that you leave behind) and that I should live this one to the fullest...so nothing new here.

But please go on, it will keep you busy while waiting for a 'possible' better life.

Sounds more like a controlling, manipulative, menstrual beeyatch. In which case I'd heave her bellybutton out to the street and send HER packing back to HER mother in Newark NJ.

lol. IF your god is like that you deserve her and the pathetic life you live under the shadow of such pettiness.

p.s. I also find it highly ironic that your religions' roots are the very same as those of the other religious nutbugs, in the Middle East

That is one hundred percent correct.  Faith needs to transcend fear.  Though I often fail miserably ultimately my desire is to please God.  The rules are simple.  Love God all all your heart and mind.  Treat your fellow man as yourself.  These are both very difficult to put into practice.  Only one living person managed to accomplish both perfectly and he was way overmodelled.

People have seen how you act on this board and in the CT. You don’t just "fail miserably" it appears you often head in the opposite direction especially in regards to how you treat your "fellow man".

As I said above it’s the fundamentalists that make the worst ambassadors for their religion and you are no exception.

One would think that if the stakes are as high as some claim (external darkness absent from the light of their God) then they would make much more of effort not only for their own salvation but to beacon a to the "lost".

To be fair you are the typical "Christian" who would rationalize away his failings with the "we all fall short, please forgive me". This is not to say that all Christian are the same. History is full of folks who served their religion selfishly, they served not out of fear but because they truly believed.

To the Christian it’s not enough just to love God but to accept Christ as their personal savoir. This is what makes one a "Christian". There are plenty who "love God their Creator" but reject the teachings of "Christ" either outright or through their daily actions.

I am not singling you out and you are quite typical of the self proclaimed “Christians” on this board and that I encounter in everyday life. Many of them on this board call for the extermination of Islamic women and children. I remember one so-called “Christian” claiming his love of the Lord in one thread then insulting another posters Mother in the next. So don’t take my post personally I am just illustrating a point.

Asatru my friend…

pretty interesting stuff... Of course it is allways fun to catch a self rightious person being a hypocrite but....

lot of hate here... fueled by fear is seems to me.    (what if they are right?  I'm gonna go to hell?)

I look at it like this... a religious person comes up to me and says "I believe there is life after death"... or  "I believe there is more to it than our life here"... Or... " I believe there is a supreme being... a creator"

I say.. great... sounds resonable to me...

then they go on and on about details of their personal knowledge and sometimes conversations with said afterlife and creator and how they have the straight scoop on every thing that said creator wants from me personaly (usualy has something to do with a percentage of my income)...

At this point I say... nice theory but not gonna base my life on it..

Wonder what Jesus or Buddha's preference on guns would be?

What would they use in different circumstances. Say for example;a race riot in LA, during a home invasion by a ruthless, murdering gang of Vietnamese immigrants or if found faced off against a ravenous bear in the Appalachian mountains?

It is my personal belief that Jesus is a revolver man... he told me that he trusts revolvers in .357 and .44 and .45 and that  we should all have at least a couple for critters, riots, bad government and zombies.

I tend to agree wth Jesus on this but hink that shotguns and high capacity semi auto pistols and carbines are useful too.

oh... and Jesus also likes big block muscle cars and any Hot Rod that is not front wheel drive.

Well he certainly wasn't a  clean shaven, pasty white Anglo-saxon type ;)

Back on topic.

I always thought of him as a full auto, AK-47 type.  He reputedly being a "many fish and loaves from one basket"  type I figured he'd go gah-gah over the 600rpm action of just one AK.

As for muscle cars. I agree.  Brute American mega-horsepower wrapped in Detroit sheet metal over a "winggggg-ningg-ning-ninggg" style import any day.  Better longevity and more mass appeal. Especially with the chicks.

Uh OH!

Divine email just recieved (came from an official  ...@heaven.com domain address).
