Title: traceing my route, ?
Post by: mrniel on September 13, 2004, 07:02:28 PM
As i always have had a steady connect around 140.
I been shocked to see that this week my connect have
jumped up and down from 140 and up to 600.
inserting a pingplotter screenshot if anyone
care to comment. As I'm not too good at reading those
traces.

try ajusting your mtu (lower and higher) ttl (64) and rwin (lower and higher)

then ping your destination ip. see which returns lowest ping in best time.
mtu= data amount you send.

ttl= amount of hops you take (more = u may drop packets on way less = you may never arive)

rwin= data amount you receve

I wont tell u how to do this as if you dont already know then you could cause more damage than good.
