well not really, its *whispers* IL-2 Sturmovik
but hopefully HTC will move things forward visually, we already have the best multi-player capable game.
Enjoy the pics, i think they are great!

(yes i do love shooting down defenceless JU-52s mwuuhahaha!)
Come on HTC, lets strive to make AH better than the rest visually.
High altitude contrails, and improved bullet strike graphics are a must!

Nice pics!
Just some things; The Ju-52 wasn't defenceless (4 x .303 mg's)
and the contrails aren't right.
At these low alts, hardly any contrails would occure and they wouldn't last very long. The contrails of fighters usually dissapeared immediately (bombers' lasted alot longer)

hahahha trust me, against a yak's 30mm cannon, they are deffenceless :)
and as far as contrails go, this was at 5000ft, would they not show up?
you're probably right, but man it looks good :)

Think you mean 5000 meters which is 16,500 feet... I think it might have been higher, contrails usually don't show up untill your over 7000 meters.
-
ok, not sure. i wasnt saying i knew anything.
in the game IL-2, when you set the quick mission alt, is it in ft or m?
this particular fight was set at 5000whatevers.
-
It's in Meters... and speed is Kp/h if you are looking at the red display on the bottom left... Don't worry I still call them feet too... I forget all the time...:lol I think the American birds on the insturments are Feet and Mph, but the red display is always in metric system.
-
You're right about the 7000 meters o0Stream140o, it's about 20.000 feet.
I guess the British and American are pretty much the only ones who used the Mp/h and feets those days?
(today it's all in feets etc.)
Lol I was used to meters and kilometers/hour but after playing aces high for 6 years I don't know anything else then mph's :lol

Here some... man this looks sweet...

man that looks good!

If I get this right, that's an online game? I've never seen such a tight formation online! (rarely that is)
-
It's mostly offline.
It centers 95% around offline AI planes and a campaign for offline play.
You CAN host 32-player games, but that's nothing compared to what AH can support.
And who wants to fight AI?

exactly the reason why AH is still the best.

AH really needs the Ju52. Dont give a toss about new buffs, but the axis really needs a troop transport :aok

They are testing bigger server based play now. I believe a 64-player beta test is in play now. Don't remember who was working on it, but I think it was a third party developer. Basically making a massively multiplayer server while using Il2 as the front end.

Actually the Finnish VirtualPilots server Virtualpilots1 (or whatever, on hyperlobby.. :)) has been 64-player server for a couple of weeks now. I'm not sure if it's been working ok (don't have the time to play IL2FB AEP, have bought and tested it but don't have the time to play it... :(), I'm sure Camo would have more info on that. But there are 64-player servers already. Or at least that Virtualpilots one. ;)

Thanks for the heads up, Stream. :)
Oleg Maddox & Maddox games are developing the 64 player dogfight server software, they are considering including it in the upcoming Pacific Fighters. The 64 player dogfight server is currently being tested by two parties: Gennadich.com and Virtualpilots.fi.
I'm sure Maddox games will announce more information on the dedicated server software, once the date of the PF release comes closer. The last I heard it should be released on October 15th.
