I'm looking at replacing my Athlon 1600+ (it died) with an Athlon 2600+ Barton core CPU, anyone know if the 2600+ multipliers are locked? I was going to get a 2500+ but they are no longer available. Thanks

Does your Motherboard support such a big jump?

I just picked up a new ASUS A7N8X-E motherboard, so it will work fine (my old motherboard died too :-( ).

Heres the anser http://www.techtastic.ca/reviews3/barton-2600.html (http://www.techtastic.ca/reviews3/barton-2600.html)
Most of the locked bartons 2600+ will run at the 2.1 ghz (3000+) speeds just fine . and some still run ok at 2.3 ghz depends on the combo .
Oh yea Ker use the nvidia nforce international drivers . not the Asus packaged ones . These are what fixed my A7n8x-e deluxe
Windows 98se
