the engine nacelles are natural metal. I did that 262 once, but lost it in a HD incident as well as an a6m5b.
also, I believe the very tip of the nose was red or yellow, can't remeber - or that might've been another 262... :)

This is the template i use for my 262 skin above. As i've said, there's still a lot of work to do.
I need help on making the shining metal part on the engine. Any instructions on how to get to such a effect.

for metal use varying shades of white, grays and blue - just not too much blue :)

Waffle, it would help me a lot if you would send me your converted BMP files (not necessarely the Photoshop files). I'm having some trouble with the exact positioning of the panellines on the wings. And your template is definately exact.
Could you do this and send me the BMP files to this adress:
alex.simon@bluewin.ch
Thanks

Was there a chronic paint shortage in germany at the end of the war or something?
They forgot to paint its nose!
and also the panel lines on me-262's arent very visible apart from on the nose and engines.

No Furball. The paint shoartage is on my side. This skin isn't finished yet :D

this is how I did the skins - First I made a large sized profile with sides and wings, ect on it.....
This allowed me to do a "complete profile" using the same pallete/steps for wings and fuse as well as keeping tones/weathering consistant, instead of having the "split" fusealge" like the standard 1024x1024 bmp. Then I cut and pasted the parts on to the 1024x1024 maps.
WARNING: larger files coming
