(Arlo is playing AH and responding on vox via a headset with the speakers off)

Squadie: Arlo can you read me?

Arlo: Roger, loud and clear.

Squadie: You take the lead.

Arlo: Roger, I have the lead.

Squadie: Cons sighted 12 o'clock

Arlo: Roger, cons sighted.

Arlo's oldest daughter (who had walked up and was watching for the last 10 minutes): Daddy, who's Roger?

I've accidently done the "rgr" thing several times when on the phone.
Usually people just say "What?"

The only problem is I dont like doing it whan not in the game cause it makes me sound like the  all to full of themselves wannabebutanitgotwhatiittakes to be a REAL cop security guards  from where I worked years ago

I gave up on it long ago. Just say roger all the time and explain it once to those who don't understand.

There was a guy named Roger at work and yes, I couldn't help but say roger Roger 400 times a day. :lol

Its already pretty hard not to say something dumb in school without repercussions. Let alone the few times a day I catch myself saying "copy, err, roger."

on the golf course sunday, JB42 skulls a chip on a par 3, line drive going 30 yards past the green....

but hits a tree 5 yards off the edge of the green (only tree in 20 yards) and it bounces to 15 feet from the pin.

i laughed so hard, then said "wish i had film on that"

What makes it funny is I use Military radio lingo everyday and NEVER  have I found myself saying that on the outside..only sometimes with other Navy guys with the same job.

Arlo,
VP-67 huh..I love P-3's..grew up around them in Jacksonville..my father was a reservist with VP-62. My primary job is anti-submarine/surface tactical air controller..Many a day I have controlled P-3's on station for 8+ hours never leaving my console..only to have another check on station..I call em sky camels..they go forever on one drink...longest continuous stint controlling p-3's was 26 hours with no break (sux being the only controler onboard) ate my meals at my console and avoided drinking so as to not have to piss:D

to ya ASTAC. Wished I'd made a career of it.

What I found funny was, being a TAR outfit, our pilots were pretty much all airline pilots who came in to play Navy once a month and to party in the P.I. on deployment. Most of them had a devil-may-care sense of humor. You'd hear "Breaker breaker, this is Pappa Lima Four, good buddy ... inbound on final." on the maint. control radio on occasion and nobody would even wince.

Once, enroute to Moffett from NAS Memphis the P1 got on the intercom and in airline style fashion said, "Ladies and gentlemen (there were no ladies aboard and only a few gentlemen .... according to Congress), we're cruising at an altitude of twenty-eight thousand feet. If you look out your left window you'll see the Grand Canyon ....."

Roger and copy I can accidently get away with usually...
But when Ive said "L-O-L" a few times, thats bad

Now if Im on the golf course with my buds,,,who have all dabbled in AH or WB at some point, and I make ANY comment like copy, roger or even if i spend too much time watching a plane fly over...
I will pay dearly,
They will rip on me for the rest of the day,non-stop.

About a year ago I tried to wezel out of a tee time,
Guys showed up at my house anyway and caught me playing AH,
Im still payin for that..

I have said "LOL" more than once in real life.

lol to that lol

Lucky for me I speek finnish normally, so I have not said the other stuff tho :)

Never seen the "wtg" before, I think its a AH thing.
