Title: need some help getting my CPU running

Ok I should be flying but i,m not.. 512 MB ram ATI radeon 9800 pro 1.7 GHz. windows XP my frame rate is 26! I have the sliders turned all the way down to loaest quality and refresh rate to the max... Bios settings look ok.. what else could be wrong? spen about 400 upgrading this comp and no improvment... did OS reinstall.. thanks in advance

is it a pentium 4? Is that ram pc-133? If so maybe you should upgradign ram and get a way faster cpu. That can push the 9800pro to the max.

What video resolution did you set for AH2?

Your problem is most likely a CPU bottleneck combined with the Aces High II/ ATi low frame rate phenomenon.  Make sure you have Antialiasing and Anisotropic filtering set to application preference in the ATi control panel and all other ATi settings set to maximum performance and  set resolution at no higher than 1024 x 768.  That will reduce the CPU load (and image quality) and get you the best frame rate possible.  If you've already done that, a faster CPU will bring a good deal of improvement.  Trading in the 9800 pro on a 5700 U (no point in a better nVidia card without a CPU upgrade) will get you better frame rates in AH2 though the 9800 pro absolutely blows the 5700 U away in every other game.
