Pensioner arrested for eating cats
A 70-year-old man has been arrested in Brazil on suspicion of hunting and eating cats.
Elias Cassini was allegedly caught skinning a Siamese cat in the backyard of his house in Sao Paulo.
The police say they found two other dead cats in his house.
A police spokesman told Folha de Sao Paulo: "We got an anonymous phone call alerting us about Mr Cassini. The person said he was hunting all the cats in the neighbourhood."
He is reported to have said: "I do have the habit of eating cat stew and fried cat. I do that because I don't have enough money to buy food."
But Mr Cassini's family told the police he has more than enough money to support himself and that this is nothing more than a bizarre habit.
Mr Cassini will go on trial for animal cruelty and could go to prison for up to a month.

I can see prosecuting him for poaching but there's nothing wrong with hunting for meat if they didn't belong to anybody.

Hmmm... it's illegal to eat cat? Why?
Offtopic, but... In California it's illegal to sell horses for the purpose of human consumption. You can sell them for glue or dogfood, but not humans. I don't understand this either. It's just MEAT.

My sister in law, however valid or not, informed me that in California it is illegal to De-Claw cats because it is in-humane.
Gotta love that word "in-humane"......there is nothing human, the root of the previously mentioned word, about cats or any animal there of.

It’s simple: Real men don’t ride cows and don’t eat horses.
It’s a natural law. Kind of like the speed of light.

what about bullriders at the rodeo? and i would estimate the most people have eaten some horse meat in there lifetime they just dont know it. it tastes just like beef. i remember when mcdonalds got caught with kangaroo in the burgers. people still eat horse AND know its horse. my oldest brother used to work for a big company and they would slaughter shetland ponys when the price of hay went to high in the winter. the reason you should not eat to much horse is that alot of medications are made from horse serum and it may cause a bad reaction.

First of all, they ride bulls not cows.
Second, bullriding is for entertainment. There is no reason a real cowboy would ever need to ride a bull.
Finally, the fact that the French are big consumers of horse meat...
oh nevermind.
