They're (their) all around! They watch your every move! They feel superior in pointing out your errors! Careful!
-
Nah, you only sound dumb if you use their, instead of they're. Or your, when you really mean you're.

since when is spelling and grammar an issue on a BBS? As long as someone gets their point across, their point is all that should matter. For example..I can't type properly...but I type so fast with my thums and fi9rst two fungers..I make alot of mistakes..most of the time I don't bother to coorect them unles it messed up my point

I don't think it's huge issue with most people on here, certainly not a big thing with me. But sometimes some of the things typed in here are too funny to let pass. And I'm not talkin bout the content necessarily.

Wow... do I need to change my avatar to "ripsnort loves me"?

of course when your trying to make a "educated" post about something...it helps if you have reasonable spelling, so you actually sound like you know what the heck your talking about...ever try reading when you have to contextize every 14th word and imagine your own pauses so that it sounds right?
that being said, most people here have fairly good spelling, considering some of them probably type more words a year than the average author
-
The sad thing is that most of the foreigners are better at english than the Yanks. It's not just the spelling, it's the grammar and the punctuation. It's amazing that there are so many adults who are at a 4th-6th grade level of english composition.

And a lot of them have college degrees. I believe a possible source of this is the way childern are taught to read. banana could probably fill in the details between the old and new methods.

you were right about McCarthy, but not when he was with Wings. I corrected the name of the song though!

Sour: OMGRASEST
rpm371:No Saur, it's not racist.
DAMN! I was staring at that thing trying to see if I could figure out what the words represented by the letters R-A-S-E-S-T were.
I *think* I figured out SOB's ROFLMAOLAT from an earlier post ("like a tard").
erhm... okay I need to make some serious life decisions. :D
-
Yeah, Nash. I spend way too much time decyphering 733t on here. I need to go find a job.:(
-
Dunno which is worse, misspelling/misusing common words or editing your post to correct 'em. I mean, what if someone quotes your error while your making the correction. Only thing worse than either of those is worrying about either. ;)

I'm not looking for you to educate me about class warfare. I'd like to know why you think it applies to what I wrote.
Edit: On second thought, nevermind. Stick to your (erroneous) assumptions. Class warfare against my own class...I suppose that makes me something of an economic/social Kerry.

Contractions are a part of the english language, especially in America. Some of us are actually taught how to use them in school. :p So while it may sound dumb to you, it is an everyday part of our language :)
