Ok....tonight's data:
Bish 152 Players 121 Fields
Knits 146 Players 95 Fields
Rooks 106 Players 39 Fields
CNT FLIGHT % MIN-ENY
Bish 152 137 37.5% 2.9
Knits 146 115 36.3% 0.3
Rooks 106 85 26.2% 0.0
So the Rooks get a minor penalty against the Knits, and no Penalty assessed against the Bish?????
Does this look right? Bish should have a very high Penalty and Knits about 60% of the Bish Penalty to be fair.
I have the screen shots, just couldn't figure out how to post them.

How is it even a penalty with the eny-limiter that low?
and, umm the rooks aren't being penalized, the bish and knits are. sorta... not...
besides, HT tweaked the eny-limiter kick in % and #. there was a thread about it recently.
-
Yeah, when I said the "Rooks get a minor penalty against the Bish...." I meant the Rooks were favored by that amount... In any case, you have gotten my point....despite grossly disproportionate resources and fields, the ENY system did nothing to balance the tide of war.
At this point I'd just abandon it completely.
-
as i said, ht tweaked the eny-kick in because so many rooks were whining about it being too punitive (can we say irony meter pegged out? i knew we could).
and you should know by now that on big maps (or any map really) that once a side is getting reduced significantly, the other two will pound it even harder for the reset.
when was the last time rooks got reset anyway?

I do not believe HT ever said it was supposed to "balance the tide of war".
He meant to balance the number of players on each team, not prevent resets.
-
The sides aren't balanced in this case, and the ENY is doing little to improve the balance (again, in this case).
Rather makes it ineffective, I would say.
-
sure they'd be balanced in a perfcect world...
100 knits and bish going at it with each other, leaving 52 + 46 to go up vs the 100 rooks.
how is that imbalanced?
as i said, once the scales tip toward a potential reset, that low base country will get hit even harder.
c'mon you've been around long enough to know this by now. you've also enjoyed the rook hordes for quite a while.
as wotan is fond of saying...
butch up.
-
Shane, no worries Bro. I enjoyed the hordes, and I have been on the short end. I don't care either way, honestly. I can find a fight.
I was simply observing the ENY thing isn't effective - as I thought it would be.
That said - see ya up :aok :aok
