Title: The Buck Stops
Post by: midnight Target on September 21, 2004, 11:45:18 PM
Any leader of a huge entity who uses faulty information to cause that entity to take a course of action should be held accountable for those decisions.

Both the President and the Vice President need to lose their jobs over this one. They failed to do the necessary investigation of the truth before taking action.. unforgivable.

Who is the President of CBS anyway?

(with a nod to John Stewart)

Obviously they didn't.   It's much easier to toss out the usual knee jerk reactions than actually read the post and offer an appropriate response.

The double entendre was noted. And IMO, the "Pres of CBS" is responsible for dealing appropriately with his underlings, not taking the fall personally...unless it can be proven that he either directed their inappropriate actions or knowingly allowed them. I appreciate the entertainment value of a good witch hunt, though.

People behave and react in pretty predictable ways sometimes.

I even heard F911 grossed something like a gazillion dollars at the box office and was met with standing ovations in some theaters.

some people really think that Jon Stewart is a real newsman and his show is a real news program, must be the same people that think mikey moore makes real documentaries.

Man, this one certainly seems to be in the stratosphere to some, and others just seem overly sensitive.

I saw that on the daily show last night.

Stephen Colbert made the statement about CBS but said it in a way that it sounded like Bush.

Show was kinda funny till then.

If you consider the job of a TV newsman to be that of a DNC propagandist.  Which is actually fairly accurate for most US TV networks.  Certainly he's doing a better job of it than Rather.
