Here's some stuff that might help. I like that they stayed with the Gray/Green upper surfaces.
If you need more, I've got it. Note the photo with the upper surfaces and how they just sprayed over the regular RAF markings and didn't even out the gray before putting the much smaller SEAC markings.

Good flying with ya in that Snapshot btw.

Thanks,
Like the look of the 3rd one.
You would happen to have a drawing or something of the leaping panther, leopard whatever.
Any info on panel/rivet lines appreciated.
Can't get rid of yellow leading edge, but can change to white.
Looks like dk green, dk grey uppers, med sea grey or sky lowers.
White spinner.
Sky blue rear fuse band to blue for just sky.
Found panels etc for fuselage, assuming that as our spit 14 is 2 20mms + 303 or 50s that it uses a 'E' wing. In which case I can use lines etc from my already done Spit 9.
Made a start - very early!

Kev. I've found this template in a book. I hope you can use it for your project. The images are scanned in 150 DPI. If you need some higher resolution (300 DPI) let me know, then i'll upload them and link them up.
This Skin belongs to: 152 Squadron "Black Panther" flown by G.R. Duval in 1944 / 1945

Just remember that is a VIII in the images Airmess posted and that the XIVs were painted in the regular RAF camo not the brown's and greens. The Panther should work fine though :)
I've got that book as well but forgot about that image last night when I was hunting for a better view! I've got a 1/48th scale decal of it around here somewhere from a Spit modeling project but couldn't track it down

Thanks Airmess.
Guppy35 check pic few posts previously, its been updated.
Any idea on squdron code order on other side, and which way the cat is jumping?
-
Looks great already Kev.
Not sure on the codes or the cat. As the normal practice on the codes with the RAF was to have the UM preceed the individual letter, it's a fair bet it was UM-G on the right side as well with the UM behind the roundel.
I'd also suggest the cat would be facing forward on the right side too.
Definately E wing XIVs in the PTO
Great work Kev

Not sure it had the cat on the other side if you look at the Spit profile from Airmess.

Updated pic, closer view.

Tough call. I've never seen a photo of the other side. I've seen two photos of the left side of the actual Spit XIV. Yet the B of B flight guys are generally pretty accurate.
Personally I'd go with the cat on both sides just for the look and the continuity. I think unless we can find a photo of the actual aircraft itself, it will remain open for debate.

SEAC Spitfire UM-G was used on the Battle of Britain Memorial Flights SpitXIX a few years back. It shows UM-G with panther on port side and UM-G on starboard without panther:

Hope this helps?

Went back to the 152 site Kev. If Peter Arnold is saying only on the left side, then it's only on the left. That guy is THE Spit expert. I've been lucky enough to get to know him a bit as he for a time had the remains of Spit XII EN224 and my interest in the XII let me help him with the history of that bird along with some photos.
I'd go with the panther only on the left based on his opinion.

Thanks guys, I thought the cat would be missing on the other side.
Imagine the squad codes were more even on stbd side than in pics as they weren't to bothered about painting over the ac number.
I was also thinking of darkening the area around where the RAF roundels used to be, as it looks darker in your first pic. Tried it and updated pic. Look OK?

Ginger Lacey also had a far east Spit XIV. Had a bunch of kill markers on it. There is a Mk XIV out there, or was, that is painted in his colors.
