Dunno if it will have what your looking for but my son is forever on "Tabit.net"

Good thing for me he likes the same kinda music I do(Both new and old) and Detests hiphop.

though I never imagined that my son would get ME sick of listening to Led Zep LOL

Well Gun, if you think about it, there are several children's songs that carry the same tune. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the ABC song, for example.  So if you learn one, you learn a few of em.  Just a heads up. :)

Heres a quick, one string tab I did for them that figured out a while ago.

Several notes are off, but it sounds close to what it should.  Hope it is kind of what you were looking for.

I have my kids on tuesday's and thursay nights.  Some nights they sit in my room with me and watch cartoons while I play on the computer but my daughter, 5, is asking me to play my guitar more, she's in school now, and I want to start something new with them.  anything else would be greatly apprecaited!

Ah, success.

http://www.guitaretab.com/m/misc-childrens/12149.html

This site has a lot of nursery rhymes with chords.  Most of it looks pretty simple.

Wish ya luck!

There are two premier sites and programs to use for tab. You wont find any those basic and incomplete  tabs kids fire out to be the 1st to tab a new song.

MySongBook uses Guitarpro  (http://www.mysongbook.com/)

and

PowerTab (http://www.powertabs.net/pta.php?page=software)

THANKS for the replys so far.  I think this is going to be mine and the kids project.  It's kinda cool, I'm the man of the house and work full time, but my wife works 3 nights a week.  Those nights I get complete uninterupted daddy time w/ the kids so I'm allways looking for things for us to do that just me and the kids do.  Not sure if any other parents understand that but it's helpfull when you have a mostly stay at home mom.

Wow...that's a pretty snooty thing to say. Nothing wrong with tabs, gotta start somewhere. We aren't all Jimi Hendrix reincarnate.

How many guitar players does it take to change a light bulb?
1 to change it, and 20 to stand around and say "Pfft, I could do that"

How many drummers does it take to change a light bulb?
None, they have machines that do that now.

Back to the topic, I have tabs printed out from olga hanging on my wall not 6 feet from me.

That is silly.  Does it follow that all other typs of musicians that use sheet music should stick to computer games?  Like mabey a pianist?  Ive played since 1987, and I just "know" what cords I am hearing on the radio.  However, I still cannot take 4 bars of 16th notes, and just pick up and play it by ear, unless it has familer phrases in it.

The only reason I'm asking is specifically for children songs.  My daughter started school and sings these songs in school and I think it would be a fun activity that I can do with them when their mommy is working.

With as many hours I put in at work and the fact that my wife only works 3 nights a week I as a father have to do things that just me and the kids do....daddy time.  I'm not sure if I'm saying this right but that's just the reason why.  PLUS, I dont get alot of opertunity to play my guitar so it's killing two birds w/ one stone.

Also, her teacher want's parents to actually come into the classroom for special days and help teach the kids something.  I figure this would be cool to do.

<~~plus ya never know what tuning they are using,,you mite play it in a drop d or e or in regular 440 standerd tuneing,, play it and sounds right,,but be totaly wrong just because some players tune down a half of a step or more

as for tab,,somtimes tab is good and somtimes bullcrap,,i dont use tab books much anymore,,but i use play tombone and you have to have it to play with a brass band thats for sure,,but as for guitar,,most songs i have learned by ear<~but not everyone has a ear for learning it that way,and most tab i have read,,pointed me in the wrong way and would be totaly wrong or show you a complicated way to play somthing simple,,so keep a eye out for bogus tab,,but there is some good stuff out there too
