Title: Iraq Elections: Not all will vote?
Post by: rpm on September 24, 2004, 04:19:34 PM
"Let's say you tried to have an election and you could have it in three-quarters or four-fifths of the country. But in some places you couldn't because the violence was too great," Rumsfeld said, hours after the leaders of the United States and Iraq met in Washington.

"Well, so be it. Nothing's perfect in life, so you have an election that's not quite perfect. Is it better than not having an election? You bet," he said.

I see we will be having "Republican elections" in Iraq now.

Yeah, I could see that happening:

Thousands of insurgents suddenly put down their weapons for the priviledge of voting for a puppet.

John, that is the most asinine statement I've heard you make. What gives you even the slightest inclination that I support terrorists? As a Veteran, and American I am extreemely insulted.

GC, that was not the case in Florida. For an in depth look at the Florida recounts watch "Unprecidented: The 2000 Election". It takes you from start to finish the recount and the efforts by Republicans to block it. There was never a complete recount, it was decided in the courts. Clueless dolt.

Wonder what this is about?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader accused his Democratic rival Sen. John Kerry on Tuesday of being responsible for a campaign to try and keep him off the Nov. 2 ballot.

Seen by many Democrats as the "spoiler" in the 2000 election that elected Republican George W. Bush as president, Nader's campaign said it was fighting 21 legal cases in 17 states in a bid to get the consumer advocate on the ballot.

Nader pointed the finger at Kerry and Democratic Party Chairman Terry McAuliffe for being behind what his campaign says is a program of harassment, intimidation and phony lawsuits that are costing tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees.

Allawi was on the CIA payroll, perhaps still is.  The US will have at least 100,000 troops in Iraq til at least 2006, and they are currently building an embassy complex to house 3000 workers.

The elections will go just exactly as the US want.  Do you believe they 'invested' all this money just to let some someone in who is going to refuse them access to the oil?

So no, there will be no 'free' elections in Iraq.

NO NO NO NO.....RPM you are way to smart to be suckered in to Moore's pack of misconceptions.

EVERY RECOUNT DONE AFTER THE ELECTION HAD BUSH AS THE VICTOR!

Ahem source please?????

that's easy...quoted by ME of all people because I SAW IT HAPPEN!  It was only 4 years ago....I do have a memory.

ALSO the blocks on the recounts were not to stop them all together they were to stop them from happening in JUST DEMOCRATIC COUNTIES.... that's all the gore team wanted.

I'm sure we could have recounted over and over again and eventually pulled a couple hundred votes out of thin air and made gore the victor but it just didn't happen.

Give it up allready....Bush did not steal this election!

under Saddam, everyone voted. In fact he was elected with nearly 100% of the vote last election. Isn't that ironic?

Gun, I named the source. "Unprecidented: The 2000 Election", which by the way was NOT done by Michael Moore. There was never COMPLETE recounts done in all the counties that they chose. Watch the film and then we can have a discussion on it's contents. Believe it or not it actually slams Gore for making a mistake in the type of recount he asked. Go figure.

I just remember mid 2000 seeing in the news (not just foxnews but papers and cnn) that florida hired a firm to do a 3rd party recount (not as if it would effect the election but just sake) and in every count they made (statewide) Bush came out on top.

So any of this garbage that Bush stole the election or that republicans disenfranchise voters to me is just crap.

Heck look at the lengths dems are going to to surpress ralph nader from being on any ballot.

President Kerry will put Al Gore in charge of the election if he wins. Al will make sure that only votes from insurgency controlled provinces are counted, just like he wanted only heavily democratic counties recounted in 2000.

Go Kerry! Go Jihad! Deth to Amreeka!
