When a 20 inch diameter pine tree 15 ft away snaps before your very eyes while you're looking at it, you become religious very fast.

got some wind and rain here in daytona. pretty tame. no tornado warnings and very few power outages. when I decided to ride this one out, I also bought a portable weather radio, pretty cool toy, for the possiblity that tornadoes warnings are posted while power is out. well, power never went oit, and there were no tornado warnings for volusia, which is the county I live in. Flagler country(north of volusia) had a tornado warning, and brevard (south of us) had a few as well.

I saw the first serious damage today- a stoplight was missing from an intersection.

Talked to Mom today in Pompano Beach. The eye apparently passed north of her, same path as Frances. No damage around Pompano that was significant. They have power, phone, etc.  Couple of downed trees in her neighborhood.  50-70 mph winds.

Yeah the wind was much stronger then the last two.  I just moved into my new home to experience Francis. And now Jeanne, she really was a blow'in. So hard there was water coming in under the front door!
