LOL Oxford AP is literaly 8 minutes away from my door step. :(

Interestingly enough, I was on the phone with Wax today, and while sitting inside I my house started to rumble.

Walked out the front door and there off in the distance was another 4 engined bomber. And I'll be the farm it was the B24 your talking about.

What a rush it is just to see these things fly over head.

Can you imagine 100+ flying in formation? :p

Edit: Btw Blindbat, nice to meet another CT'r here. There are actually quite a few players from Ct.

I was in Southford monday and a customer of mine told me to check it out at Oxford airport so I drove right over, they are incredibly impressive to see up close and personal.

That must have been the one that was up in New Hampshire at Nashua Airports  Daniel Webster Colleges aviation heritage weekend.

There was a B-24 that it took off with this past Monday.  Funny thing was, my office is located on the departure end of Runway 14 (which they took off from) next to an appartment complex.  They were both fairly low and the rumbling set off multiple car alarms :lol

Really bummed that I didn't get a chance to goto the show over the weekend... They were doing low pass's along with P-47, F4U, P51, and P40.  The B25 that was there didn't make it up for whatever reason.

I think it was Monday or Tuesday ... just got home from work and was sitting on the couch when I heard this loud rumble. I hear alot of planes go by my house and when I heard this rumble ... I knew their was something BIG and EVIL outside.

There was the B-24 lazily flying right over my house. I ran out into the yard and watched it fly off, only to hear it come back again ... right OVER my house. The hair rose on the back of my neck.

I figured it had to be at Oxford ... I should have driven up there but had other commitments. Never saw the B-17 tho.

Morpheus:

What you might have seen was the Collings Foundation B-17.  The Collings Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring warbirds.  They do a tour with their B-17 and B-24 as a fundraiser.  It has been a few years, but when they stopped by my airport, it was a $400 donation for a 30 minute ride.  If you get a chance, I highly recommend it.  I have a great photo of my house from the bombardiers position.

Check it out.
