I have set my ground visual range to its max, 3 miles I believe, but I still can not see enemy vehicals when I am in an aircraft. I can in no way attempt to dive bomb them because by the time I see them I am well below 1000ft AGL which leaves me no time to correct my target.
Is there any way to make it so the vehicals do not go transparent when I get above 1000ft agl? I have plenty of system resources left as I am still running 75+fps.
I run WINXPSP2, Nvidia GF4 4200, SB Live, Barton 2500+, 1GB of PC2700. I am useing a video driver in the early 50's range because the newer ones cause stability issues for me.
Thanks for any help.

My only advise would be to use the Shft F4, Ground Vis Range.
It may need to be key-mapped to use it.

Thank you for the fast response, I will try this when I get home. So I assume that you are telling me to hit shift + F4 and it will cycle ground view distance in a different way than the slider in settings? Also, what do you mean when you say that it may need to be mapped? It has been over a year since Ive played AH activly and I forgot almost everything, im a noob again :-/

Yes you have to map the Ground View. Go into your keyboard setup in AH, and in the VIEWS catagory (going from memory here) you will see a GROUND detail, map the to Shift F4 (or any key really, it's just that the OTHER detail views are shift F1-3).
Ground view extends your viewable distance to 4k (vs. the 3k max, and/or whatever you have setup for ground view in video pref's.) and you will be able to see those gv's now. Unfort, it will also give you a hit to your FPS

Ok, I had a few moments to test this out this morning, unforunetly I wasn't able to be in an aircraft trying to bomb a GV.
When I hit Shift+F4 the horizon changed from its smooth view (Full view mode Shift+F1) to a Jagged mode labed Ground view. It said ground view on text.
Is this what you are refering to? I also checked the mapping and it was already mapped, I think. It had Ground view and then Shift+F4 listed.
I'll look again to see if I see a ground detail setting, other than the slider. I don't have much time to check this stuff out untill Sunday. Thanks for the help.

That's it. It will reduce the horizon but make the GVs more visable. As mentioned it does put a dent in the frame rate.

I have tryed this, the *fr dent* is unacceptable. I go from 40's - 50's on my fr to the teens. Anyway to make it playable?

Thanks, I tested it out today for the one flight I had (attack) and it works. My fps didn't drop too bad, only to about 45. Now them pesky critters are once again going to see the iron powder in thier eyes.
