It looks like they are trying to use a hydraulic thing to Cut / Drill a bomb...
Doesn't look safe...
Maybe its some type of odd rocket, and they are 'charging' it with something...
Still doesn't look safe... :0

Bomb disposal team at work in the Pacific. Made me think of that old Masterpiece Theater series "Danger UXB"
Guessing they are freezing the fuze on the bomb before removing it. For some reason I remember seeing that done on that old show :)

It is, 60 KG JNAF Bomb.
It is,Austrailian Bomb Disposal Unit.
They are driling the bomb, once the fuse had been removed, this divice could be placed on the bomb to creat an opening large enough so the explosive content could be flushed out with Hot watter. The larger fead line is for steam, the smaller one from the tin is lubercating oil.
Per, TM 1985-5 p.44 Type 98 explosive, the type found in this bomb type is comprised of:
Trintroanisol, 70 percent; H.N.D. 30 percent.
........
I did watch that series on PBS Dan, I was prety young, but I remember it vividely, was a great show.

DVD's of Piece of Cake? Wow, been waiting till it came back on PBS to tape it. Love that work. Great character based story, excellent air scenes. I read it cost something like 11k pounds per minute of air scenes (due to bad weather and paying for planes while waiting ).
Moggy Catermole is the Wolf Larson of the air, minus the command position of course.
Thanks Charon, gunna go to Amazon right now and search for it.

Cool, I will look and see if I can find it, Pice of Cake was another good one, but dident they have spits in France?

True, but (unless it's in the book too) I imagine it was done for practicality given the number of Spits in flying condition.
Moggy's line "They don't fly Spitfires..." when talking about bailing out and causing the village causalities is a classic.
