Title: Planewhiners
Post by: skernsk on December 03, 2000, 10:34:00 AM
What's with al the PMS in the MA and the BB lately??

It seems that all planes are dweeb planes with the exception of the one being flown by the usually dead planewhiner!

BnZ pilots complain about Spitty's and Nikki's and TnB pilots complain about P51's and other fast planes and as always people complain about the Chawg.

I fly a Spitfire alot because I can kill in it.  It has less ammo and is slowwer than most if not all planes in the MA.  I also have to work my bellybutton of in order to get a kill most times as I am still not very good at this game.  I take it like a slap in the face when I get a kill and some idiot starts whining on the text buffer.  If I killed you in your plane it probably means that you screwed up.....so take it like a man.

The amount of whining from an individual is inversely proportional to his ability to accept that he did something wrong.

This is pretty much the norm in any on-line sim I've been in.  I like to keep a list near my computer and just randomly pick an excuse when I go down...

HO Dweeb!
Vulcher!
Runstang!
Dweebfire!
Gang Bang!
Cannon Dweeb!
Warper!
Hacker!
Cheater!
Barbara Streisand!

What they really mean to say is "I had a lapse in SA and failed to keep my aircraft from being directly in front of your guns... thankyou for showing me I'm not perfect."

Hmmm..I wonder, could you just add numbers to the list and then when we got shot down we could just say "Number 3" or whatever.  Might save a little time and we can get back up all the faster...what do ya think   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Barbra Streisand  roflmao  I went back and read the list and spit coffee all over my screen.  Y a kill me...I mean "8"  :P

Heh!  50 demerits for letting some ijit that has to compensate for their piloting insecurities by being aggressive in the chat buffer get to ya.

These types are a source of amusement to me.  Frankly, I don't get near the satisfaction from a <S!> as I do "YOU DWEEB RUNSTANG CHUTESHOOTING BASTARD!"

It really is a slap in the face. Only losers choose to whine about warps, uber planes, etc. after they get killed. I get killed plenty of times by warpers, gang bangers etc. The easy thing to do is throw some BS into the text buffer. The hard thing to do is to throw a <S> in there. But this is where you get respect from other pilots, ot get a reputation as a whiner. I prefer the former.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Gee.. and I thought that 109 or Yak had low ammo count.
I feel myself comfortable in Spitfire, when it has enough super cannon shots and turns on a dime.
also.. it isn't that slow and in fight, it surely isn't slow. (boy.. what E-retention it has)

not to mention difference between 109 and spitfire guns.... peashot vs. multipurposeantitankmachinegu ncannon(tm)

Indeed. If you aint got anything nice to say to them then shut ya damned mouth, you'll only come across as a sore loser.

If you really believe your own ego, then it must have either taken a really skilled pilot to kill you or you made a dumb mistake. Either slap your own wrist and make a mental note to avoid that mistake next time or congratulate the victor on a job well done.

I never gave much attention to the whiners.

It is in fact the pilot, not the plane.

Complaining the reason you got shot down was solely to do with what airplane he has is ridiculous.

As for it not being fair, well...it is fair.  All sides fly the exact same airplanes.  There are 0 differences between them.  It doesn't get much more fair than that.

It will also be true in the new perk plane setup.  It won't unbalance the game.  The rules the enemy player and yourself are playing under are exactly the same.  It would only be "unfair" when they could get have perks and you cannot.

Using the argument that players who play all day vs casual players is also statstically fair.  The fact is, it isn't how long you play, but how well you play when you are online.  He may have flow five Me262s before you got online, but when your both online your equal on how soon you get the next one.

Some people need to go back to math class and relearn the chapter on statistics.

Hans.

Ya, but thinkin you can out climb, out zoom, out dive, out turn, out roll, and out range an A6M5 is a quick way to die.

I have a translater implanted in my ear that translates dweeb to english" For example:

Run sissy boy run = I really wish i had a faster plane

Vulcher! = Me so dum me keeps upping frm capd feald.

Ahh you  get the idea  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

flackpanzie = flackpanzie, I agree, ultimate dweeb ride  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Let em whine, take it as a compliment. And be glad your ego isnt as frail.

Well, I must say..  Something is strange.  I was riging with Citabria today and he went 30 feet under the ground and then came back up flying a good plane.  I wonder how that happened?  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)  I understand that there are good pilots and sometimes you get lucky, but there was one other thing I saw when riding with him.  We are going 500mph and then pull up with no problem in the p38, hummmmm...when I try that, I have no control of the plane.  In fact if I go over 450 the same happens.  Is this just luck?  How does that happen?

Just wondering??

If he flew underground for a second, then popped up...sounds like a bit of internet lag to me.

As for control over a plane thats in high speed compresion, you use the trim tabs.

I know aztec....we probably got nailed by the same tard......I guess I forgot to put it on auto for him and he wasted ammo killing me.

I wish HTC would post a list of those who are better than the rest of us....you know the ones who are not to be shot down...and when they come near we would know when to engage the auto pilot.

My suggestion is a "yellow" icon and hot pink training wheels on their NON-DWEEB planes.

The ONE thing that has really begun to burn me out about AcesHigh is the lethality of the quad cannon equipped planes.

I dont DARE suggest that there is ANYTHING even REMOTELY out of KILTER here.....

All I am saying is that its getting old for this fella.

Its a scary thought when I start to have fantasies about Rolling Plane Sets, Planes with quad .30s and a cheezy outdated view system........

Oh well....I digress  :P

Heres hoping AH does something wonderful very soon!

Wow yeager.. thanks for throwing that in.

So.. tell me.. is someone at fault for shooting you down with 4 hispanos?

Until you can supply any kind of reasonable answer to that.. please don't even passively support the notion that it is apropriate to get on public coms and insult the person that shot you down simply because of his plane selection.

BTW... he was flying a plane that had 2 cannons.

My recomendation is to turn combat trim off and experiment with the trim keys before saying "hmmmmm".

Hummmmmm when I flew the P38 using them nifty little dodads that they put in there to reduce compression dives called dive flaps, that there P38L that Cit flies pulls out of dives right quick. Add in a little trim and you're home safe.

Yes and the thing where he went under the ground was internet lag, happens to the enemies too if they pull up near the ground.

It happens.  Often I'll have this incredible, drawn-out 1-on-1 with some unknown adversaary, with many changes of advantage, incredible ACM and the like.  Then I whack him and I recognize him as a rank newbie whose maneuver reportoire consists of trying to turn into his adversary regardless of the situation.
So I think. "Man I flew terribly. I shoulda kilt him a lot sooner."
But charity in the end prevails.

my girlfreind summed it up . i was explaining how i used to love this game and how it has really become alot less fun . she asked why i responded with a explanation of the hogc\flack\weird flight model situation. she said ohh they are going for a wider audience by copying crimson skys. ( flight sim with silly planes with super cannons ) to attract a wider crowd. ( at 30 bucks a head ?)

was talking to pollock on rw for the first time in forever, almost the whole squad has left the game . and im out this month . htc had succeded in making a great game boring as hell. sorry if i get mad but i really used to love this game .

When I shoot someone down and he proceeds to yell at me in the text buffer, I consider it to be a job well done.

Sometimes I use my macro as a reply:

"Another satisfied customer"

Usually they get even more angry

In all honesty, getting shot down IS frustrating, and I will often yell various things at my computer--but I never, ever, type garbage on channel 1.

Just a stupid story...

Most people know I don't fly around squeakin' about stuff. But on the weekend I had this engagement with a Tiffy, and he was warpin' all over the place, 1-2k at a time. I finally broke the fight off and left. A few minutes later he comes back, we make one pass, rev, and come back at each other. Again during that merge, he was warping badly. I decided to take my chances in a HO, as a forward warp would at least give me a better chance than warping to the side (it was doubtful he woulda let me get away again).

I got killed. No biggie. Then I made a *huge* mistake. I asked him to check his connection. What I got back was a solid two minute barrage of "Ha ha I love how better pilots always complain when they die!", "Always an excuse!" and on and on.

Now, when someone mentions a problem with my connection, I relog and come back.  Even when I believe fairly strongly that the connection problem isn't on my end. It used to be just courtesy here. I mean, it's just stupid trying to pin down a warpin' plane. It turns into some kinda game.

I guess the point I'm making is that all of the incessant whining on channel one has created a "cry wolf" situation... where ya got guys so defensive now that they simply refuse to believe *anything* if it seems like just another whine.
Title: Planewhiners
