next plane HAS to be the Ta 152, if its not then theres definatly a conspiracy... :P

Why do they keep adding planes that require almost no structural work. Just take the barrels off that Typhoon and change a few small things and you have a Tempest.

Nice!

I hope this doesn't mean that this is the only RAF plane for 1.06.  If it is, well, no perk for me.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Nat-BDP,
How is that?

A barely saw combat in the last month aircraft is the same as a full service, production aircraft?

Ask for the Fw190D-9 and Me262a.  Don't whine about how "There must be a conspiracy because they arent giving me an aircraft that is a year more advanced than anything else".

Of course, if they do give you a Ta152 I won't have to worry about you because you'll be up a 40,000ft with only other Ta152s to kill.

Also, they are Hispano Mk. Vs, much more lethal than the Mk. II on the F4U1C and our current Barbiefires.

Its going to be a perk and I don't want to waste my hard earned perk points on an aircraft I'm not interested in.  I don't fly often enough to earn many perk points, and I don't have time to fly more often than I already do.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)   I'll save my perk points for the Spitfire F.MkXIV, Spitfire F.Mk21, Meteor F.MkIII and A7M2 Reppu.

I'll fly it offline of course.

Tempest was not carrier capable, so I'd say no.

If I remember correctly, Karnak, the Ta 152 and the 190D9 got the most votes in Pyro's late-war variant poll.

The only reason the Tempest was done is because the model is easy to create from the Typhoon.

P.S. don't take it out on me that you're not getting a Spit XIV this version! ;p

Post by: Karnak on January 10, 2001, 01:29:00 PM
Nath-BDP,

The Fw190D-9 got the most votes, followed by the Spitfire MkXIV.  Ta152 or Tempest was 3rd, depending on how you scored it.

I wasn't taking it out on you, I was pointing out how ludicrous you're statement was.

Erk! What an unflattering angle  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Looks great though!

Ah, that's the kind of angle a Tempest should be seen at  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Beware the Tempest - Holding 200rpg (compared to 140 for the Typhoon) in lighter Mk V hispanos, with a 'Spitfire' elliptical wing, and handling characteristics if anything superior to that of the Sea Fury that did so well in Korea, and its engine 100% suited to arena altitudes, this is possibly the ultimate non-jet perk plane  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Can't wait!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Thanks HTC,
Looks like I'll soon have acces to my favourite WWII fighter (providing I can afford it)!

Gentlemen,
Just think of this as a means of perk point transfer: From my meager total to the guy on my 6  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Having said that I wouldn't mind a crack at flying a Ta-152 either.

Ugh, this is what I hate about the perk system.

A chog that climbs like a g10 and has more firepower than anything else.

What fun a matchup vs such a plane would be if you're amongst the "I hate perk system and won't use my perk points" crowd.

But nice job on it Superfly  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).

Looks very nice!   I went looking for a different scheme becuse I though that it looked too much like the Typhhon. But....I really wish the RAF has used soem more camo schemes. Other than D-Day invasion stripes this scheme is spot on.

Karnak and Nath.  Go start your own TA-152 and Spit IX topics and stop wetting the floor of this one with your whines.

If it proves too powerful, Santa, it'll just require a more perk points. Besides, you've got to admit 190D9 vs Tempest V will be a fun matchup  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Back to revision now methinks..

Where is the P-40?  The Hurricane MKII? The F4F Wildcat?  The MiGG 3 or Pe2?  The Betty?

More firepower does not necessarily mean more fun!

Sweet!  I was hoping for it to be in 56 Sqn colours but I'll settle for 3 (Fighter) Sqn colours any day!   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)  Be cool if they have V1's too.

Colours look a little off and didn't late Tempest's have the D-Day markings on?

Really nice ...

Clostermann's JF-E should have a white cross of Lorraine (2 horizontal parts - top one smaller) just behind the spinner on the right side and the name (stacked)"Le Grand Charles" under the front of the cockpit left side.

Cheers,

Rifle - there were several JF-Es. Only the last one had these markings IIRC.

Duma, true.

What I will miss I guess are the "there I was, 1v1 vs an enemy" - with a 50% chance to win!

Right now I feel that's how it is because the planes are so well balanced.

But with the perk system, chances are I'll meet a perk plane in that 1v1 and it will *feel* to me like I am being cheated on, that there isn't a level playing field.

Oh well. Just me  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif).

Not till after the war did the Tempest get some real color and paint variety. All that I could find shows the same camo scheme that HTC is using. Although I personally would prefer invasions stripes to help offset it from the Typhoon more.

Westy..

The Typhoon and early versions of the Tempest had the black & white stripes on there wings before they came out with Invasion Stripes..

Reason being, Allied fighters for some reason were mistaking the Typhoon for a FW190 and they where engaging there own guys. You will see the odd pick of the Typhoon with stipes on the wings but not the fuselage.

Dog out..
