I have a 1/35 scale model of the TKS. The dang thing looks like it is 1/72 scale. Hehe. What is really funny, is seeing it next to my 1/35 scale Maus. :D
If I remember correctly, the TKS is the version with a 20mm cannon.
-
yea some versions had a 20mm and a 7.92mm. yea the maus was a big tank it would have have had 100 or 2 of things things for lunch.
-
one guy "i forgot his name" took out 7 PzKpfw in his TK-3 i have to say the guys that drove these TK-3s had some huge balls goin aggenst thos PzKpfw's
Edit:On September 19, 1939, Sergeant Roman Orlik knocked out 7 German PzKpfw 35(t)s with his TK S with 20 mm gun.

LOL! WOW!
Makes me think of that killer rabbit from The Holy Grail...
:D

He obvious did this:
Put the TK-3 in his backpack, snuck behind German lines to a motor pool of parked PzKpfw's and after covering them in gasoline and planting explosives, took the TK-3 out of his backpack, jumped in, fired his shots, then quickly re-packed the TK-3 and made it back to Polish lines.
-
Yeah lol, most of those tankettes had these easy carry handles mounted on top:

No, it marks _the_ armoured plate found on both sides of the tank. ;)

The things I know:
- It was extreemly effective weapon. It was much more mobile then normal altelerry, could bring high amount of fire in very short time at small theritory and disappear.
- One battarey could in less then one minute of fire bring lots of damage.
- It was not exact weapon but because there were lots of rockets that were bombing quite small theritory nothing were left there.
- Geramns were really afraid of it.
In AH it would be extreemly effective againt towns and other strat targets.
Using Panzer you need to spend lots of time in order to detroy town. Enough to bring some Il-2/P-47 in the air or Panzer and kill you before you finish your work.
There you will destroy allmost full town in single shot. Also if you going to aim on enemy armor you can bring lots of firepower in single shot.
-
One would think that the "Stalin Organs" would be extremly limited in mobility due to the use of wheels instead of tracks. I would think that this would force the russians to rely on roads a bit too much. With the weight of the rockets, rails, and vehicle I dont think it would make a very good off road vehicle... :D
I know, just semantics but at least mine's a "tank" ;) :p
-
Well....
We have roads leading to the towns.
And we have lots of concreted area and ramps around the airfields..

Sturm-tiger or something I think
-
They have on in the Technik museum in Sinsheim (or Speyer). Great stuff there but not all that accurate or original. Still worth very visit.
It is BIG and you can actuallu touch it. Thumping the front armour is like thumping solidity.

Description
There were vents around the gun tube that allowed the exhaust to go forward. It took about 10 minutes to load the 761 lb. shell. There was a crane that was used to help load the rounds into the vehicle. The range was around 5,900 meters.
It consumed fuel at the rate of 2 gallons per mile.
761LB SHELL MY GOD!!!!

LOL, the Sturmtiger. One hit, one building down. :D
Pretty ugly stuff. Read a story of it at achtungpanzer, one of these had ambushed a sherman column on the german border. Didn`t hit them with the shell, but the blast alone destroyed several tanks... a truly specialized weapon, built on Tiger I chassis of retired tanks, some 18 or so were built.
-
yep
Alkett Chassis nos. 250001-251357
August - December 1944: 18
LOL, the Sturmtiger. One hit, one building down.
lol 1 hit whole town down
Edit: oh and this self propelled gun had 13-14 of these 761lb shells
