I think it was the map before trinity, cities were 8-10k away from the fields. Seemed to work pretty well as I certainly saw many
IL-2's which in turn were easy pickens for the incoming hoard which in turn was devoured by the planes upping from the nearby field which in turn were being shot down by the flaks and m16's approaching the town.
I think this idea needs to be revisited. Worked for me.
