The A6M is a great furballing aircraft, much better than anything else in the game. Its so stable I find it very easy to hit aircraft at ranges of D400+ when they try to extend or run away... its a great Hog killer.

But Nath, furballing is rare. This game is highly biased towards dive and run away tactics, and that's what most players do. IMHO A6M is a death trap.

P-38, P-47 and 190A8 once on the defensive require more of a man to survive in.
Offensively, they're superior to the 202 and zeke (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
But chog. What can I say? It's a no skill ride.
Those of you that call it an "average" ride do so because it doesn't turn like a spit or climb like a 109. But look what it does in terms of a Z&B aircraft:
It outturns all other z&b'ers easily.
It outguns all other z&b'ers easily (range, ROF, cone)
It has a good roll rate, and unlike the 190 it doesn't get significantly worse as speed increases.
It has excellent low speed handling.
It handles excellently for a z&b'er in terms of making tight loops.
What I am saying is those that say it's average are comparing apples with oranges - compare it with its fellow apples, such as the P51, P-38, 190A5 and A8 and so forth.
Torque is one of the few chog drivers I can tolerate - mostly because he has *consistently* flown the chog - even in 1.03 where it dinnae easily outturn all other z&b'ers.
Yes, chog is a wuss gamey plane perfect for those who lack the skill to kill without resorting to HO or InstantDeath(tm) 900 yard pings.

Those that diss the B&Z (or Z&B, for the ACM-dislexic) ignore the historical realities. The day of the T&B plane was waining, even in 1940. The Japanese designed the ultimate T&B plane, the Zero, but it was already a dodo bird when they hit Pearl Harbor. It's superiority initially was primarily attributable to poor tactics on the part of the Japanese' opponents, compounded by the superb quality of the initial cadre of Japanese pilots. Fighter development ran in absolute linear fashion in the direction of heavier aircraft, bigger engines, and more powerful armament.
For all that, I still get the urge now and them to hop in a Zeke and kill chogs (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). Back in my WB days, a favorite ride of mine was the KI-43 Oscar. What a joy to fly!

d. Run like hell fer help.. (pony's are good fer something anyway)
e. Say fek it and jump the first thing that gets in gunrange, knowing yer gonna have one hell of a parade in a few seconds. (most of us prolly fit in here. Hell; who wants to live ferever, anyway?)
