It's in cahoots with Bush, I know it. First Bush fakes the attack on the Pentagon to start the war for oil, and now the war for world domination sparked by claiming Mount St. Helens was a terrorist strike.

Where will it end?!

"mount st. helens isnt a volcano after all, but a secret underground weapon test site. the 1980 explosion was actually caused by the phaser rifle mk I backfiring.

fridays "burp" was just the powercore cooling down, and the earthquakes were caused by the firing of the phaser rifle mk IV. the imminent explosion will be caused by our secret agent. unless of course you give us 1 TRILLION DOLLARS IN GOLD BOULLION" -the dalai llama in a secret teleconference with the UN

You did a little cut and paste with the date there, Ripsnort.
The mutant fly is in the archives.

Negative. I did a "Save As".  No photo doctoring. It was just a fly that landed on the lens if you haven't figured that out by now...;)

We should harness the power of errupting volcanos into usefull energy.

Ah good thinking!  Okay, now take this valve down to the crater floor. and keep an eye on the pressure valve for us, okay? ;)

Eruptions are too infrequent, what we should really do is harness the power of geothermal energy by setting up stations near volcanos that can tap into the relatively easy to get to heat.

Maybe something like a closed loop system with sodium or something more exotic being run at high pressures through banks of turbines?

She'd just laugh!

The energy released  in the May18th, 1980 eruption was the equivelent of 24 megatons thermal energy (7 by blast, rest through release of heat)

Where is Godzilla when you need him. Maybe he is coming out of the volcano which is the reason for the recent activity.

Sure,..you go find a virgin for a sacrifice that is of legal age.  I think you would have better luck building a cork to stuff in the volcano.  :D

there is no subway in Seattle ... they just built the city over the old city .  were lucky that the buildings dont just sink during the earthquakes.

There may not be a subway, but there ARE underground bus tunnels.  Miles of them.  Very neat, the diesel bus drives into a special transition lane in the bus yard and switches to electric as the arms on the top are grabbed by the rail.

Darn it Godzilla always steps on the subway.... Maybe he could simulate this by stepping on amtrak.
