Title: games youve always wanted to see?
Post by: vorticon on October 04, 2004, 02:45:10 PM
i always (well sorta) wanted to see a mmo based off the riverworld books, maintaining a fair amount of closeness to the books. of course youd be able to make any weapon you want, provided you have the materials needed, and rather than foolish levels to determine what you can and cannot do, some kind of system (similar to the one in sapiens i guess) to make it so that the player is in complete (or as complete control as possible) of the production of said item.

ive also always wanted to see some kind of swordfight/fencing game, where the player controls the sword with something working similar to the gun in duckhunt.

There was an arcade game in 1978 that did just that... Vectorbeam's Warrior.

Unfortunately this is the only Fencing (http://www.leonpaul.com/download/games.htm) game that I know of. Fun but then nothing is going to beat getting on the Piste.

I think there was a game called "die by the sword" the movements are really hard. the game uses throttle joystick and peddals to mimic the real movements of the arms.

Used to have an Avolon Hill game Called  "blitzkreig"

Massive map and about a billion little cardboard peices representing units.

Would LOVE to see that ported over to the computer  with both a 1 and two player mode

Second that.

Or, I would LOVE to see really "cool" twitched-based space mmo at the least that combines both ground and space/air,  preferably with realistic physics similar to orbiter. Gonna look forward to the swg expansion pack flying with cocky noobs who think they are flying a realistic space sim.  I also hate all this medevil dragons and magic stuff, and I like to see people be creative and not use licenses.

A solid update of Battlezone (the first revised edition of a few years ago, and not the dumbed down BZ2). I would have a more creative scout unit and the ability to laser designate for artillery once dismounted above an enemy position, among other enhancements).

A yacht racing game... Something complex and challenging...

But it's like pretty much all naval games, unless it involves subs - boats just tend to make for crappy games.

I disagree.  I've actually played a few Yacht Racing games that were quite decent.  However, it's not a big genre, so not many people are going to make something for it.
