Title: HTC Staff.. LW rockets question
Post by: JB73 on October 04, 2004, 05:24:53 PM
with all the threads lately (and in the past) i never got to ask you about them at the CON Q&A.

with all the new information posted, and the volumes you probably have, is there any chance of explaining exactly how they are designed to be used in the game, AND if they are being changed towards the air to air role more like some have mentioned?

personally i was intrugued about them and spent about an hour offline last night seeing how they could be used A2A with very poor results LOL.

thank you sirs

Impact or time-fuse, you pick.

For an idea of the damage, fire a salvo at a wall from point blank.

They are hard to aim, but those who do get them to work advise firing a little high from 1-1.5K.
But that doesn't include speed and relative speed, I'd guess it's at nearly equal speed and no closure rate.

From my experience (in AH1 with B17s) if the formation is tight enough, 1 impact on the center plane can detonate the whole formation.
Usual result I'd get was touched plane'd explode and at least one other be barely flying.

Pyro didn't see your comments here:

i guess i still have to ask... were they implemented into the game for this reason? if so, are they aimed by the sight, like others are mentioning (with the elevated angle of fire) or are they set to some other undefined aiming point?

I came across this info on the RM4, the German replacment A to A rocket for the WGr21 rockets we have in Aces High:

Bring the RM4 to Aces High!

12 rockets under each wing, 24 in all.
