Was just watching O'Reilly and caught the tail end of a segment. An English teacher had a pic of the president in her classroom along with other US historical items like the constitution, etc... Some didn't like the pic of Bush and she was fired for refusing to remove it. Someone needs to be fired alright but not this teacher.
-
Iron I'm sure they will have the same policy for President Kerry.
:lol

That school is in my township. My wife just told me about it when I got home.
Said She got into a big arguement with another Mother about that and the use of the word "God" in the pledge.
With reguards to the pic. I myself am seriously considering going down to the School board and complaining As well as to the next township meeting.
Since when in america is it wrong to have a picture of the president of the USA hanging in a classroom reguardless of who it is.
Seems to me thats the one place you SHOULD see it.
Its this type of crap that makes me want to find one of these far far left BHL's and literally BEAT some living sence into them.
this #$%@@ political correctness has gone far enough

Oh and from what I understand it wasnt Some that objected. it was 1

:lol
doubt it This tonwship is predominently Democrat
-
The funny part is the 3 complainers wanted her to put a picture of Kerry up with the montage of US President's and historical documents, "to be fair". What a bunch of squids.
-
the school will lose this one
picture of the Pres will win
-
Maybe they'd be happier if she had a picture of comrade Lenin instead.

Update.
And Hold the phone
Seems ther may be more to this story.
Wife just got off the phone with someone in the know.
Seems the teacher had a display of all REPUBLICAN memorabilia. Touting the election.
Its open house this week at school.
A parent asked why there wasnt any Stuff on the Democrats or on Kerry the Teacher replied
and I quote
"there is no room for a democrat in my classroom"
Also turns out NOBODY told her to leave. she left on her own
She then went to the media claiming she was fired
But
she was never fired. the principle does not have that authority.
Now if THATS the case then the teacher is a kook and dead wrong.
In any event that seems to be the other side of the story.
now where the truth is. We have yet to find out
-
Just found a statement on the subject from our superintendent of Schools
http://www.sbschools.org/boe/announcements.php (http://www.sbschools.org/boe/announcements.php)

I'll take the word of any news source over the phone network. If she had campaign stuff, then unless she was teaching Civvies, she was wrong, but that is not the way I saw it reported.
-
OK, it looks like she WAS doing partisan politics. Let's hope the Union can not prevent her from being fired.
-
Well considering it is whether I like it or not MY town and she was talking to someone who works AT the school in question.
And knowing how the MEDIA tends to report things.
I'd say My information is at least as credible if not more then the media
-
ok now that we have both side. it should be interesting to see where the truth ends up

More to the story?
More to an O'Reilly story than meets the eye?!!!
Ya don't say.....
Fox news also had a story today or yesterday about a group called "Communists for Kerry". Turns out it was a republican stunt group. But they didn't tell you that.
They had a story right after the debate using completely fabricated quotes - none of which Kerry actually said. They didn't tell you that either.
But they DID tell you multiple times that WMD had been found.
These losers are hysterical....
I can't wait to see how this Bush picture in the classroom thing unfolds....
-
I'll take the Superintendant's word on it. I am sure he checked it out before he made a statement.

Another gem from O'Reilly's No Spin Zone... LOL.
IF this is true it is just as wrong.
-
The teacher said on televison that she never once discussed her political views with anyone in the school, someone is lying. Will be interesting to learn who.
-
You seriously don't think yer ship has sunk with this thing? Come on.....
-
My ship? Not even Fox News ship. O'Reilly gave the school an opportunity to refute her claim on the air and they declined. Like I said, someone is lying and it won't be hard to prove who. However, this will likely be resolved quietly in court and the teacher will be happily gagged as part of the settlement.
It's not like O'Reilly presented forged documents slandering someone and then refused to present even the remotest evidence to back his claim.
