Did I say I would love to see a 9UT in the game? Please.. ;)

I'm dreaming of it since the 9u was introduced ... it was a huge deceit to see the 9T instead :(

One development version made.....after eating 3 engines it was sent back to OKB in march 45 for further work..........it never saw action.

UT for what? It never saw combat.. Why not Yak-9P or Yak-3P? or La-9?

We need early VVS stuff. I16, I153, LaGG 3, Migg 3, Yak 1, Yak 7, Yak 9, La5[F] etc...

SB-2, Pe-2, early single seat Il2...

I thought 282 were build ?

it's a huge number if we compare to the Ta152 :)

Wotan I still pray for my yak3 with a tricolor spinner ;)

The MiG-3 is far more important than this Yak model. Far, far more.

Sure, the Russkies only used it right a few times (the defense of Moscow is one example), but it's a very potent plane above 22,000 feet. Great acceleration, very good roll/turn rate, and reasonable E retention. Various gun packages made it a viable light bomber interceptor.

And, if these things don't convince you that we need the MiG-3, just think of the skins! This plane had some very nice camo schemes. I'm partial to the green ones, myself :aok .

Well I hope the WWII usage of the Ta152 never becomes a precident for any thing.........

Yefim Gordon states the 282  UT's in both  publications (SCA Vol1)and  (Red Star Vol5).

But even and only in SCA Vol1 is it stated that "some" were "over Berlin" in the last few days of the war...... hardly combat

The UT tested in March was armed with a 37mm main gun and 2 x B20 but in Red Star Vol 5 its suggested that it was finally armed with the 23mm NS (YVA replacement) and 2 x B20. However if this product had to wait for the "universal engine" version of the VK 107 then its deployment would have been delayed beyond the end of the GPW.

Your best bet would be to find out if the ac was used in the Manchuria campaign............

Ahh good, the thread got straightened out.... :)

But I think I would disagree with you Tilt, about the time over Berlin being "hardly combat".  

Now the combat history (or the lack thereof ;) ) of the P-63 KingCobra I might give you...... but I still would love to see it in AH.

Hey Tilt, you have some good sources for Soviet Data.  You know where I can find anything (beyond the normal webtrash) on the MiG-19 ? I have Yefim Gordon's book on it, but I didn't know if there was anything more lurking out there.
