Just putting it out here: if a guy has command of a Cv, could he not stop aircraft from launching. Fairly irritaiting to get a CV near target only for noobs to up too early and blow the suprise.
I understand that this may impinge upon the freedom of others to up what and wherever they like; but so does sailing the CV off to the edge of the map.

The idea has some merit but whats to keep a spy from gaining control of the CV and securing flight ops so his mother country can walk all over it?
-
make it so ud have to be playin on that country for 10hours to do so and i would like to see bigger fleets like 4-5 CVs 6-7 CAs and about 10-15 baby ships now thats a task group
-
I don't know what other countrys are like but I had to shake my head at my fellow country men this morning.
I logged on for a quick jaunt before work and noticed one of our carriers within spitting distance of an enemy base, considering there was only about 20 fellow country men on and they were swarming one base I altered it's course to take it away from the base.
No soon had I done that, it was turned around and two guys upped from it. 10 mins later it had been sunk by one enemy guy.
Who needs spys to wreck your CV group when we do it to ourselves.
It isn't so much child proofing they need but idiot proofing as well.

There is a continuing battle between developers trying to built more idiot proof software, and the Universe which is building more idiots.
So far the Universe seems to be winning. :rofl

people should be allowed to up from where ever they want when the want.. noob or not noob...we all have the same rights...
-
Agree with Selector. Remember, it's just a game.
-
Why? - this can lead to the right of one guy blowing an attack that was set up an hour ago.
Destroying fighter hangers removes that right of upping wherever someone wants; should that be stopped then?
About the only use of rank in this game is control of CV's - what's the point in sneaking one in if a guy decides to up a sector and a half out. What is the point of having control of a cv if an inexperienced player can effectively render it useless.
-
Fine, I give in.
I was thinking of the CV as being analogous to a land base, from which anyone can fly at any time.
However, if there already is a rule governing who can move it, then I suppose allowing the same category of person to decide when it can conduct flight ops is ok.

(bobbing to country hymn) let us play ... let us play ... let ... us ... play!
(repeat to self: It is only a game. It is only a game.)
-
Heh, we know it's a game the geezer before you already told us but it's not pacman or doom where you just blast away or eat everything in sight.
It is supposedly a game that requires some thought on tactics, strategy would come into it if countrys/players were consistent enough to form an overall strategy but people want to play how they want to play.
I have no major problem whatsoever about who or how people play but I still reserve my right as a game player to call the people who get a carrier sunk within 10 mins of taking control of it, idiots or
-
Anyone who takes a CV that close to a base without taking down the ord. is just looking to lose it quickly anyway.
-
just sit in the tower, and turn the cv when they try and take off.
after a couple deaths they'll give up.

they can do that now. Hell people do it now to their own country by hoplessly using wild turning of the CV trying to avoid bombs.
In the end all they really accomplish is preventing both planes from taking off to defend and manned AA guns from aiming on the attackers.
these people tend to do more harm then good to the CV.
When attacking a CV the only thing that can stop me is the defending planes or the AA guns.
I have never missed putting my eggs on a CV because someone was doing wild evasives.
It may work against level bombers that actually drop on a CV when in level flight. but how often does that happen?
I would imagine that is one reason why we have divebombing 17's attacking CVs

Ok some of you wiseacres.. will think this a dumb question.. but since I do not try to command CV's very often.. primarily due to other fellas that have a lower score than me... that thinks they are the supreme admiral of the ocean seas... and will only allow the cvs to go where they want... anyway.. MY question is.. how do you turn a cv quickly to avoid bombs.. etc.. I thought the only way was to set new way points.. on the map.. etc etc etc.
Am I unaware of a technique?
