Excellent article and very true.

One of my employees had a Bush sign in his window and parked in our garage.  He had "Bush Sucks" keyed into the drivers side of his car and a tire flat when he came out.

That's just sad.

I love how the article calls them "Liberals" and "Kerry Supporters", instead of "Vandals" and "Bush Haters".  The only activity assigned to folks who seem to be Kerry supporters is flipping off people in traffic.

and I also enjoy how he mixes individual cases of vandalism, with sweeping generalizations with no basis in fact, such as:

Quote

Several readers noted that Kerry bumper stickers seem to show up mostly on Mercedes, BMWs, and other "high-end Euro-steel," while Bush-Cheney cars are more modest American models. But at least part of the reason for this could be that Bush supporters are afraid to put stickers on new or expensive cars. Some families with two cars restrict the Bush-Cheney sticker to the beat-up old family van, keeping it off the better car.

Let's do a survey of that. I'll give an award to the first person who posts a photo of a volvo sporting a Bush/Cheney sticker, but outside of that, I've seen plenty more caddies, Mercedes and BMWs sporting W paraphernalia than Bush stuff.

or even better:

Quote

One reader noted that none of the homes with Kerry signs on his street display American flags. Other readers say they intentionally use the flag as a proxy.

So now the Kerry voters are un-american, huh?

And if Bush supporters are supposedly being silenced, how come we keep hearing them?

and heck, two can play at the brownshirt web search game:

let's face it, this is one of the most divisive elections in history, and there are people on both sides who are firing rounds through windows, vandalizing property and stealing signs.

To Dinger:  I think there's an obvious reason for it.  High population density correlates with both DNC votes and lower moral standards regarding crime.  It's clear that this combination of factors would result in a greater rate of anti-Bush vandalism than anti-Kerry vandalism.  The DNC go out of their way to appeal to demographic groups which contain a lot of criminals.  I'm not sure why you seem suprised by this.

Yeah it was Bush's fault that 9/11 happened. Nevermind the fact that Klinton Ignored the signs and refused to go after the terrorists after several previous attacks. People who blame the economy on Bush may as well blame the Hawiians for Pearl Harbor.

Yes Saintaw, all lost American jobs are either the direct effect of 9/11 or Clinton. Bush is not responsable. He's a uniter, not a divider.

we belong in the "entitlement society"

People want High paying jobs were they live that they don't need an education for were not much thinking or physical labor is required.  Also they expect to have greater than entry level pay for this job they are wholey unqualified for.

Yes we live in good times were people just expect to have everything they want and want nothing they actually need.

BS MT..

If it was a bunch of angry whites raiding a NAACP office or a DNC office in a black part of town this would be a national scandal instead of a soundbite...

Lets not even mention that RNC office that got shot up the other day...

Or imagine if some Kerrry sign got vandaloized or burned in front of a black family's home.. You know exactly where that would go...

Definition of liberal from an online dictionary:

Quote
lib·er·al
         1. Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry.
         2. Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.
         3. Of, relating to, or characteristic of liberalism.

By that definition the people who vandalise signs etc are certainly not liberal

They are illiberal:

Quote

   1. Narrow-minded; bigoted.
   2. Archaic. Ungenerous, mean, or stingy.
   3. Archaic.
Lacking liberal culture.
 Ill-bred; vulgar.

Indicating a lack of breeding, culture, and the like; ignoble; rude; narrow-minded; disingenuous.

adj : narrow-minded about cherished opinions [syn: intolerant]

No mention of being Kerry supporters ??????????
Just thought I'd point this out.

I am pleased to see that the art of propaganda has not been lost.  Both sides really know how to dish it out.

This brings up a question that I didn't think of till this thread.

What is the ratio of Republican and Democrat criminals?

I mean ALL crimes not just murders or tax evasion.

Anyone know?

Let me get this out of the way. "All Democrats are criminals" "All Republicans are criminals"

That's done so how about it?

Something for you to think about..........

Out of all the presidents who have been assassinated or had someone attempt to assassinate them, only ONE was a Democrat.  The rest were all Republicans.  Maybe they're better at making people angry?

"The problem is not symmetrical, says Musil. Stickers and signs for Kerry are widespread in Republican neighborhoods. Yet even in their own communities, Republicans are holding back"

Umm...BS:

Quote

The Iconoclast received considerable criticism this past week
after its editors endorsed John Kerry for President...

We have been told by several avid Bush supporters that the days when newspapers publish editorials without personal repercussions are over. As publishers, we have printed editorials for decades, and have endorsed candidates, both Republican and Democrat. When Bush was endorsed four years ago, the Gore supporters did not respond with threats, nor did Democrats when we endorsed Reagan twice. Republicans did not threaten us personally or our business when we endorsed Carter and Clinton for their first terms...

Unfortunately, for the Iconoclast and its publishers there have been threats — big ones including physical harm.
Too, some individuals are threatening innocent commercial concerns, claiming that if they advertise in The Iconoclast, they will be run out of business. We consider this improper in a democracy.

Several young members of our staff covering Tonkawa Traditions this past weekend were angrily harassed and threatened that they must leave, which cut short their ability to fully do their jobs and instilled in them considerable fear for their safety. These reporters had nothing to do with that editorial. They were part-time college students working to pay their way through school and better themselves.
