The waterworld video looks great HTC!
I'm curious, will the new water reflect low flying airplanes on fire?
-
pictures! we who dont like spending 2.5 hours downloading a video demand pictures!
-
That's a pretty specific image there, GRUNHERZ. Whyfore may I inquire?
-
Sinking planes .... will there be ... sinking planes? :D

Yes it is specific, like shooting at plane, setting it on fire, while you and the enemy are low over the water..
Why this curious response?
2.5 hours vorticon? Have you not insalled sovietnet version 1.7? My high speed download took only 2.5 minutes...

Grun,
I think Pacific Fighters is suppose to have the effects your looking for, I've seen a few screenshots were the plane is reflected in the water rather nicely. None yet of them on fire. But then it's gone gold so won't be long before we'll be able to see for ourselves.
And I know you can't compare or not suppose to compare boxed games to AH (well on here anyway) but really, if I'm spending my money I'll compare it to what ever I please.

Not sure on the release date. My real interest is that it uses a update of the Storm 2.0 engine. Which was used in Pirates of the Caribbean, and looked pretty awsome back then. So will be interesting to see how this one comes out.

Don't worry. You'll spend hours downloading it when it's incorporated into a patch. ;)

I don't see the difference between the AH PT and the one you posted first. ;) Maybe I've become used to the low grade graphics in AH. I'm also getting used to looking at trees as flat with flat tops. When WILL we see some good visuals in thias game?
Peace

In time, they're rolling out the new water (big step btw according to a squaddie in the graphics industry), other stuff will be along i.e. newer more realistic trees etc.

This is what I wana see in AH when it comes to sky and sea......

Thinking more something like this myself. Though this amount of detail would really bump up the minimum req'd specs. End of the day lag free and frame rate are the most important thing over eye candy, hard to find a balance I guess.

Pshawww... all that and more is possible with the new AH engine. :)
-
LOL Gix, that is awsome, someday... I'll be glad if I can stomack the MA for much longer lolh.
-
Actually I've been thinking about the MA and gameplay. Having rolling waves is all very nice but won't change the gameplay or strategy at all. I think to have good looking ocean all you really need is differences in water colours as in that pic.
I get a great view of things when flying helo's, and I don't think I've ever seen blue sparking ocean, blue sparking lakes, yes.
Thing that would make the biggest change for graphics and also effect everything else would be clouds. You don't have to render 3D clouds everywhere, do what FS9 does and render 3D clouds in the short distance and 2D Bitmap clouds in the far distance, you never notice it and frees up alot of resources.
Also to have realtime dawn, day, dusk with a short night period as dawn and dusk is visually the best looking time to fly.
So if we had variying weather from clear days to cold fronts and thunderstorms that would really liven things up. Cloud cover would force people down to under the base or over it. So you would get a change between low and hi alt fights depending on the weather over the area.
Bombers would have to have target diversions because of cloud cover etc etc. And fighterts can play hide n seek in the clouds.
Thing that makes flying different everyday, even the same route is the weather no two flights are the same.

I'm with gixer on this one. Bring back the clouds! I miss the strategy they brought to the game.
