Thanks.

I hate flying angle fighters. IMO going round and round is boring.

Let me know if you need a hand.  Got quite a few Luftwaffe documents detailing OOB including the MTO.

Got some PRO documents for the Allies too.

Feb '43 is a great time for the CT.  Lots of fighter combat and a good variety of planes.

The retreat from Tunisia.

For any skinners out there I also have a buch of color plates for both Axis and Allied in the Theater.

Ah thanks Crumpp.

I have found a few allies aircraft that saw action in Early 1943 in Southern Italy and Mediterranean sea which there is Royal Navy carriers should be there in 1943 with Seafire, Sea Hurricane, Corsair Mk II, and Ganner Mk I(Hellcat).

Also, I have to agree with you that Feb '43 is a great time for the CT and hopefully someone will make the map, but dunno who going make the map.

Sent me email at austinrulz20@hotmail.com for Luftwaffe and Allies documents you have, i might able research this week or so.

Think we will ever see an MTO soon?

We can run the plane set anytime. But it will be in the Slot or France. And that would be kinda lame.

Is it really that hard to do maps in AH2?  What map editor do you need?

Been trying to learn the map editor myself along with a squaddie, Jededi.  I'm working on a MTO map and Jed is working on an East Indies map.

I am a newbie, but it only takes about an hour to get a base map like the ones pictured below.  I am at the point where I am placing the fields and learning as I go so I'm not sure how difficult it is from this point, but so far it just seems to take time.

As I said I am just learning, but I'd gladly be willing to share what I know and help somebody get going with their map, figured the more heads working on it the more there will be to learn.

Where do you get the map editor?

Hey Bug I have a map of ALL the Axis and Allied airfields for the MTO.  Italy, Southern France, North Africa, and Greece.  The whole theater if you want me to shoot you a copy.  That way you can put the bases were they actually were located.

That is the editor for AH2, but you are going to want to start your map in the AH1 editor, since the AH2 one is kinda flaky.  You can find that here.

http://www.ah-terrains.com/

Have to log in and get it under

             File System/AH 1 Original Programs

I'll take a copy of that map, if you could mail it to thebug@rochester.rr.com I'd appreciate it! Thanks

Please take out the Boston Mk III.  It is silly to have a bomber that is simply faster at all altitudes than the oposing side's fighter.

i dont understand why do you sub the A20 with the Boston when we have the A20

I would probably say that Douglas Boston Mk III(British RAF) have seen action in Feb '43 over Tunisia and it will be added on the setup, if okay with CT Staff.

Planes Setup for Tunisia would be like this(crumpp and me idea):

The Allies - United States/Great Britain[/u]

Curtiss P-40E Warhawk
Douglas A-20G Havoc
Douglas Boston Mk III
Hawker Hurricane Mk IIC
Lockheed P-38L Lighting
Supermarine Spitfire Mk XI

The Axis - Germany[/u]

Focke Wulf FW 190A-5
Junkers Ju87D-3
Junkers Ju 88A-4
Messerschmitt Bf 109Gs (G-2 and G-6)
Messerschmitt Bf 110C-4b

This setup is pretty well balance.

Um,  You guys need to start your own thread.  I was refering to this week's CT setup.

The A6M2 is completely incapable of shooting down a Boston Mk III that is unwilling to let itself be shot down.

Seriously, the Boston Mk III is a horrible bomber to be used as an early war Allied bomber.  It is faster than the A6M2, Bf109E-4 and Bf110C-4b.  If the Allies had had such a bomber there would have been no need to switch to night bombing, add massive quantities of guns and no market for the wooden Mosquito.  The Boston Mk III is absurd as it now stands.

Of course all we end up with is the Allied whining taking out the Ki-67 (which is itself completely inappropriate for the early war) but the Boston is just fine.

Why?  Because there are far, far more dedicated Allied fliers than Axis and consequently their whines are vastly louder.  That's my guess at least.
