Afghanis, Americans, everybody else who helped kick the Taliban out, you should be proud today. For the first time since the USSR ****ed them 25 years ago, they are getting a real shot at putting their country back together. I know there are several people here who served over there, big
to you guys, well done.

because i served with them there and id find it inconsiderate to list only the americans who got killed kicking the taliban and al qaeda out of their positions of power in afghanistan. i knew a couple of the canadians personally and the others id met more than once.

The 15 pulled out during the vote claiming election fraud. Not sure where that leaves the viablility of the elections.

Well the last 18 months don't seem to have done Johnny Howard any harm.

Unfortunately this wasn't fought over Iraq if only it was, but then Johnny does seem to have some kind of cloak of invisibilty when it comes to Iraq. With the liberals cutting deals with those clowns from the christian right Family First, in the senate - Howard thinks he now has a mandate to sell telstra, not to mention further adventurism like Iraq.
It's amazing how the interest rate scare tactic has paid off...

gee trotski.. you sure are a sore loser.
I got the impression that the afghan elections were going so badly for the other 15 that they lost in any case. wait till they learn the gore/kerrie go to court to get phony recounts tactic.

Did the UN control the election "booths" for this one? That's not an unusual thing for a country's first free elections.
