Was there any sorta Absentee Voting during WWII?
Anyone got a good rescource on how it worked, I've googled some, and couldn't find much..

Sure was. Read "Parachute Infantry" by David Kenyon Webster. E company, 506th PIR 101 AB Div.
It mentions in there he casts his vote for Roosevelt while on his way back to his foxhole from a chow line. You might recognize the name from Band of Brothers, his story was featured in the "Last Patrol" episode in Haganau. My grandfather knew him from Headquarters Company (With whom he jumped into Normandy) and at Camp Toccoa.

I need more indepth, for an Election class I'm taken..
Any idea how detailed it was etc.?

well it went something along the lines of "here is your ballot" and you voted for who you wanted to win, in that era...Roosevelt.
Actually I don't know, ask a vet :)

Hawklore, I would search for current methods for overseas troops-I doubt it has changed much, if at all. Just be sure to notate that you are using current methods to explain how it Probably was done.

Probably the fact that thousands of absentee ballots from military people from florida never got counted because the rules changed somehow after they were all sent out.....either that or the "voting officers" had bad gouge on proper procedure.
Hawk.....if this helps....now a days units asign an officer or a Seneior NCO to be a voting official. He goes around his unith a booklet and explains to the troops how to register and vote in thier state. He then hands out the paper work and "encourages" people to vote.
I've never heard one of them be partisian at all its all about getting out the vote.
I'm actually worried cause there is 22 days left and I havn't heard from texas yet. I sent my card in a month ago.
