Ok so im wondering whats the point of killing a PT boat with a fighter?
You risk your prettythang flying threw a bunch of PTs picking them off while trying not to get killed and for what? When you look at you kills (fighter) they dont count.
If you start with 0 kills for your total stats for the tour and kill 100 PT boats you finish with 0 fighter kills....why?
-
what im saying is if you take off in a F6F and score as fighter and you kill 10 PTs you dont get any kills recorded, you look at your Fighter Score 0 kills 0 Assists....why?
-
Because its fun :)
-
PTs are ground kills just like a GV
-
yeah but lets just say your trying to keep your Kills to death ratio up, there is a herd of PTs coming at your CV you know damn well if you fly into them you will probably kill one or two but die in the end, so you dont even try jeopardizing your CV
-
The PT's 40mm can hit and sink a CV from out of ack range.
-
Besides the things mentioned here DVDA, it is (or was) actually one way of improving your hit % in fightermode and the same can be said for pinging gv's in fighter mode.
Don't remeber 100%, but i think i'm on solid ground here :)

Killing PT boats with the SB was always more fun. Some guy would spend a hour getting close to the shore and then boom. :lol
Or if using a plane, cut the engine, they'll never hear you coming and probably never get to see you either.

The infinite PT spawning torp launching is a sheer terror for stupid people in command of TGs. On the other hand, it does give you about 20 kills in the 5" guns before the shi*load of torps sink all your ships.
-
Because the explosion stands out real good against the blue water:cool:

No, they are like sheep in that hour you've already raked up 20 kills on the rest of his squad. :D

PT's are gud fud!
scored as attack they rack up the hit % and stuff, ALSO they are a perk harvesting machine.
kill 3 PT's in a 110 and get more perks than 5 fighters.
also DVDA .. most know about sorting as "attack" and do so prior to attacking PT's i know i do it intentionally. message out CV sunk .... i up a 110 knowing full well 100's of PT's will spawn and i keel dem!

I like the 190A-8 for clobbering PTs... great firepower, smaller target than a 110.

Is it just me or is it strange that in all the work on AH2 they couldn't change the scoring system to count kills no matter what the vehicle type?

why would they do that?
HTC himself said he put the "attack" thing in intentionally, to stop that.
the original goal was to stop people from madly flying around shooting at anything... actually having to think about their sortie.

Cause if ya dont kill them they may kill you

Keep rolling the easiest kills in the game. PT's hate La5's. I landed 9 kills in one.
