lol!  Yeah, and the better team lost the AFC championship game, haha!  Congrats Pittsburgh! All good things must come to an end, I like the Steelers(Jack Lambert was my idol as a kid), so losing to them isn't bad, although I think Burris is a big baby(got an offensive pass int penalty, teach him to call out the refs!)

Gotta admit I've never been a Steelers fan. I grew up during the high Holy days of Staubach and Landry and quite honestly hated the Steelers. I can't stand Lynn Swan to this day. But Terry Bradshaw is a different story. I knew the guy had guts when he was introduced at the Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo right after they beat the Cowboys in Super Bowl X. Here was 5,000 Cowboys fans he had just defeated and he was sitting right amongst them in the crowd. That took guts.

I really wasnt a fan, until I lived in Pittsburgh, I guess every city is crazy about thier teams, but I lived in Pittsburgh during the 99 through 02 Seasons and I worked every home game on Sunday.

I saw the ups and downs, I saw Pittsburgher's Jump in elation and throw thier beer in disgust. I remember the night before we played the Pats in 02, We were driving home after a night of heavy drinking on the Southside, Steeler Fans were stopping traffic waving the Terrible Towel.

The Next day, I went to work really hungover, and while our bar was packed, watching the game on TV, The cooks were in the Kitchen listening to the game on the Radio. We heard everything seconds before the TV broadcasted the image. The manager came over at least six times to turn it down, because the cussing and facial expressions from the cooks, let everyone know what was going on before it happened on TV.

It was the saddest day in Pittsburgh's history probably, I saw the saddest thing I've ever seen, A 40 something Yinzer Woman, rocking the mullet and the Dirty Steelers Starter jacket with the Black and Gold Zebco Pants. She was crying like a child, While her Yinzer boyfriend held her.

The worst thing about it was, that year the Super Bowl was on my Birthday because of 9/11, I was really hoping for a Steelers Superbowl Win on my 21st Birthday.

What a great game of football in Jacksonville.

And a great win for Pittsburgh and Rookie Quarterback Roethlisberger, who now holds the NFL record for consecutive wins for a rookie QB.

I held my breath on that 60 yard FG attempt, Great game Jags!

Sorry JETS, Good Game though! We Clinched the AFC North, Now we need to be Number One in the AFC overall.

This was a crucial week for the Two top teams in the AFC, New England and Pittsburgh. Next week will be another one, since both teams won thier game.

Whoever loses first, the other team clinches the AFC.

There are at least 5 AFC teams than can bring home the trophy this year...too bad we cant have brackets like march madness...

Gonna be tough though, whoever draws the short straw and has to play Indy though.

The Pats, they just find a way to win...gonna be an interesting playoff season. Would be nice to see Philly / Steelers in the rematch :) AFC gonna be much tougher than the NFC playoffs IMO.

33-30 Steelers over the Giants.

Great Game, I'm worried that the signs of fatigue and big pressure on Ben are starting to show, I watched the game at work today and caught the last few minutes while I was on my Lunch break.

It was a great game none the less though, And until tomorrow The Steelers are the number one team in the AFC, Hopefully the Patriots will lose to the Ravens, And the Steelers will remain number one in the AFC.

The Giants and Steelers game was one of the best games ever played.  I still feel the Giants should of kept using Kurt Warner througout the season because they could of actually had a shot at the playoffs.

I think its going to be Eagles vs Steelers in playoffs personally.  Steelers, though, are going to win.

Still rooting for my #1 team, St. Louis Rams.

You probably mean Harpers Ferry.

Shepherdstown is up river (Potomac) from Harpers Ferry, I used to live in Shepherdstown, unfortunatley I live about 3 and a half hours from there now.

But I'm usually down there often to visit family and friends, I can't tell ya when I'll be down there next (It will be soon though), but if your up for it I'll buy ya a pint or two from the Mechlenburg Inn, Its right on German Street.

Yeah, Steelers were pretty confident the last time the Patriots rolled in for an AFC championship game, remember the reservations? But I think the Steelers would win at home, as long as they can run the ball.

Yeah, it's tough for a team like San Diego(or Miami) to play up north in January. Now if they had home field, that's different.

I beleive your thinking of the second round of the playoffs in the 2001 Season Steelers vs Pats, The AFC Championship that year was the Raiders and the Patriots.

That had to have been the best Football game I ever saw, There was like 6 inches of snow on the ground, And the raiders almost won, but they called the Pats QB's pass incomplete, instead of a fumble.

Funny you should say that, I think the 1994 AFC Championship was the best game I ever saw.

I don't know that I'll ever be so excited about a football game ever again.

The Raiders game was in the first round. I remember it well, it was the only snowstorm we got that year. The AFC championship game was in Pitt that year, Pats were huge underdogs. During the week, it was put in the paper how all the Steelers players had already made reservations for the superbowl. Bill Cower blew it off and said it was no big deal, they were making it out like beating New England was just a formality. You try not to give your opponent locker room BB material, but the Steelers didn't seem to care. The Patriots were fired up, and it showed, returning a punt for TD and blocking a field goal and returning it for a TD(it was 24-7 after that and the Steelers were stunned). They came back with a few scores to make a game of it late, but the Pats picked off Stewart twice in the final minutes to win. I remember as the final seconds ticked off, one of the Patriots players saying to the crowd "cancel all those reservations!"

Believe me, this Steelers team is not like the Steelers team of that year.  They aren't overlooking any team in the NFL.   When they do meet, it will make for a good game.  The Steelers didn't expect to get this far this year.  Maddox was the starter, and not much was expected from Big Ben when he came into the game.

Whoever wins that game, they will deserve to win.

Da burgh is my home town. I lived next to a member of the usher's union in the '70s and '80's; we had it set up where we would hand a certain ticket taker a $20 instead of a ticket, watch a while from the railing, and go up to Dom's section, 200 level 30 yard line, around the middle of the second period for seats. I saw every home game from 1977 through 1986 that way, including playoffs (the tag for playoffs was $50). I moved away in '87. I met Swann (he's a really little guy), Hanratty and Bleier, Sam Davis, Franco Harris (he shopped in the same supermarket that I did, in Shadyside), Joe Gilliam (sad story there) and Steve Courson and Jack Lambert (they weren't especially nice people, the last two).

I was at Pitt when they were hot, and knew (was in classes with) Dan Marino, Ricky Trocano, and Bill Fralich. Yeah, they went to class. I lived next to  Ironhead Heyward for a while, he told me he was going to kill me (he didn't, though) when I asked him to turn his music down at 4AM.

Those were great times. This team is a lot more like those teams from the '70s, not in talent (you can't hold onto a dynasty like you used to) but in the "get things done" professional attitude. I don't think you'll see a Super Bowl rap video this year. This team wants it.

Well we got th Win against Baltimore, Hope Big Ben is ok.

And thank to the Rams, the Steelers become the best team in the NFL.

What worries me, is that we are no 1 in rank, but were all ranked below No 1 in areas like Passing, offensive Yards, Points Fielded etc. Except for Defense.

Hope this doesnt cost us in the Postseason.

This is in no way a cop out thread...

Although it was a dissapointing loss, The Steelers made something out of an unknown season with a Rookie Quarterback, undefeated until the AFC Title Game.

Although down by a significant number the Steelers managed to not suffer a huge blowout. Almost closing the Patriots. Of course, Almost only counts in Horse shoes and Hand Grenades and I'm severly dissapointed in the performance of the Pittsburgh Offense. Callin Predictable plays, and playing right into the hands of New England.

But when you look at the total outcome of the Pittsburgh Season, We will be contenders for at least the next couple seasons, even without Bettis if he retires.

I'm glad I can type this and say I'm proud of the Stillers, For turning something out of a shaky start to the 2004 season. Any other time I would blame and point fingers.

But I can't. If you cant see why, then your watching a different game than I am.

See ya next fall, and its been a great season.
