as long as the hull is watertight, the sub will float, so its not amazing at all.

what is amazing is there was only 1 fatality.

Vorticon, I have seen three float-boats sink with hull intact.  There are beaucoup through hull fittings, and I am guessing some are electrically controlled on a sub.
