Title: 512 maps? 487 gridlines?
Post by: JB73 on October 13, 2004, 04:58:24 AM
just playing with the TE... found out there are only 487 "cells" marked by gridlines.

that equals 512-25-13

meaning 512 pixels lets say, - the 13 pixels lost at the top of the map for the 1/2 sector, but where did that other sector go?

if i want to make something in the dead center of the map, and put it there in the 1024x1024 pixel gray elevation file, it ends up 1/2 sector south of where i want it.

sorry im really confused about this.

i made a terrain with a 3 pixel flat border then a 1 pixel wide gray line. used AK thingy, and sure enough it ended up right along the edge evenly around the whole map YET the center sector with another 1 pixel wide line ended up 1/2 sector south.

WTF am i not getting LOLOLOL 4AM and im going insane!

Hehe.... don't use the gridlines as a gauge for determining the "center". A sector is 50 pixels HxW, not 25. Yes, a sector is 25 mi wide, but the elevation resolution is one pixel every half-mile, i.e., 1024 pixels.
