I had someone give me an older model monitor, its a Sony CPD-20FS2. It works fine, and I love the 20" monitor over my current 17" one. Only thing is, I cant find a WinXP driver for it, it just uses the "plug and play monitor" driver. Will this hurt me or do I need to find an XP driver specifically for the monitor? Is there even one out there? The driver on Sony's website is dated as 2003, but its for Win95.

I don't think you really need one. I'm not for sure though.

Use the old Sony driver. You may get a message that it's not certified for WinXP. Just ignore that.

You totally do not need one. You can just manually set the maximum refresh rates yourself and you'll be good to go. I must have at least 6 monitors here for which I have no drivers, including a digital projector...

The only thing the .inf files provide are max refresh rates at supported resolutions to protect your monitor when you check the box saying "hide refresh rates/resolutions not supported..."
