Mk. V was lighter (shorter barrels, no in-flight cocking mechanism), had a slightly higher rate of fire, and slightly lower muzzle velocity.

it doesnt seems better then MK.II ....
what is difference in useing ?
I think more flat trajectory, may be more deadly on short dist ?

The main difference is that the short barrels allowed the gun to be entirely contained inside the wing. Compare a Tempest to a Typhoon. Guns inside the wing means less drag.
